Does the 3.0 use a vertically mounted canister on top of the engine lacking an anti siphon valve like the 2.7? Not rich enough to knowI don't think there are cam bearings on these.... They spin directly in the aluminum head under oil pressure.
I personally think the oil is draining down to the pan when the engine is off. The cam phasers take a large volume of oil and are high up in the engine, which is why they're failing first.
Of course, I'm just speculating
