Hey Guys,

I recently purchased a BRaptor, One of the first things I did to it was figure out a way to disable the curtain airbags while I drive in the dunes, and that has been successful but in regards to completely disabling the traction control and ABS, I am unable to add a kill switch without losing the drive modes and without having a kill switch this vehicle is no fun in the dunes especially when climbing tall dunes and cross cresting at the most crucial stage it will kill power by activating the ABS and I have to abort the run. If I do not have the drive mods I am unable to have the car in the correct setup one example would be that the shocks would be in the softest setting which is not ideal for the way I drive in the dunes.

Not sure about Braptor, but with our peasant models, just pressing the traction off performs a different function than press and hold. If you hold it down for a few seconds you get a disabling TCS message. Have you done that?

Even then, It does not completely disable the ABS and traction control completely. Hence I need the kill switch.

I've not needed anything beyond Baja Mode (automatically disables most/all traction and stability control) along with the manual traction control switch on the dash for very aggressive driving in the Glamis dunes.

As I understand it, ABS is next to impossible to disable and that hasn't impacted my dune driving.

I am based in Dubai and our terrain is mainly made up of dunes. Even after being in sand or even in baja mode and turning the traction control manually off still comes in the way when climbing tall dunes. I have a Gen 2 Raptor and in that I never needed a kill switch for traction control but needed one for the curtain airbags. I have the Ranger Raptor as well and in that too I am facing the same problem as the BRaptor.

Not completely, there is still a percentage of it that comes in the way.
Yeah you can hear it clicking on and off even with AdvanceTrac off. (Baja mode only turns off traction control, a long press of the traction control button turns off AdvanceTrac). It’s essentially 80% off but if you’re trying to power through a turn or climb a tall dune it can actually get you in a worse spot. I would think a Tune would be required to disable it, which should be coming down the pipeline soon, but as of right now we’re stuck with it

As of August 2024, have you found a solution? I love my Raptor, but I think my 2000 Expedition was more capable in snow or mud on steep terrain, because I could keep as much throttle as needed when it inevitably slides sideways. I got stuck last winter once when I was already through the worst of it, but my back tires slipped into a small rut. I was still making good forward progress, until it started tracking partially sideways (rear tires in rut, front tires out of rut), the electronics killed the throttle and applied brakes and ruined my momentum. Once momentum was lost, I was stuck bad. I had it in Baja mode and pressed and held TC button to turn off AdvanceTrac BEFORE I attempted to get through the snow drifts.

I think there may be a federal mandate since 2012 that traction control cannot be fully disabled.

I'm curious, what do you mean by removing the abs fuse disables drive modes? like sport mode? can you still turn 4wd on? 4 low etc?
