I think there may be a federal mandate since 2012 that traction control cannot be fully disabled.

I'm curious, what do you mean by removing the abs fuse disables drive modes? like sport mode? can you still turn 4wd on? 4 low etc?
correct you still have control over the transfer case, but drive modes are disabled.

Someone play devils advocate and walk me through the downside of loosing drive modes for a day while playing in dunes. My guess is you may loose suspension and exhaust settings. But if the xfer case reverts to a basic 2H/4H/4L with no traction control/abs, I’d think that should give desired result, yes?

Pretty sure the GOAT modes rely on the ABS in some manner to provide some of their functionality.

So not sure you'll ever be able to just disable ABS entirely but still have GOAT modes functional.

Best compromise you could make would be pulling ABS fuses and still having manual control over 2H/4H/4L (maybe 4A?)

I'm surprised that so few people are commenting about electronic stability control (ESC) in general. I had a 2015 F150, it was the first vehicle I owned with ESC. The first time I took it out in late winter, that f***king ESC kicked in and got me stuck. The road was drifted over in places and momentum was enough to bust through. I came to a spot about 100 yards wide, too wide to momentum through, so I came in slow, thinking that if I start to spin, I'll just stop and back out and call it a day. I made it 40-50 yards in, not realizing that the top foot of snow was fresh, but I was staying on top of old hard crusted snow that was another 2 ft deep. I broke through and was stuck, high centered. After at least 90 minutes of shoveling, I was able to get moving, build some momentum to get back on top of the crust, but the back end started drifting out, ESC (which i had shut off with the long press of the traction control button) kicked back in, killed throttle, and caused me to break through the crust again... <15 yards to go and another 90 minutes of shoveling. I HATE that it can't be temporarily, fully disabled in 4 high. 4 low just doesn't allow enough wheel speed for certain situations. This was in March - it was a combo of new snow, old crusted snow and frozen ground. And away from the trees on south facing slopes, mud. Some places an inch of mud on top of frozen ground, some places deeper mud. BTW - this was in MT, on my friend's privately owned cattle ranch - I wasn't out tearing up public land. We were just out to have a little fun that day... but he actually needs to get out into those areas regularly, all winter to check water, feed cattle etc. Most of their old ranch trucks are over 10 years old... I told him to keep them forever.
But this ESC crap has to have the same effect on just having fun out in the dunes or other areas open to 4x4 use right? No dunes in my area. I expected to see a lot more about this.

After thinking about this, now that I'm tuned I have ZERO use for goat modes. I should run the ABS circuit through an upfitter switch so I can turn it on/off at will.

Pondered this since yesterday but without drive modes via ABS circuit thru switch, are we allowed full access to program all features? E.g. can I go 4H, engage rear locker, Baja suspension and exhaust, sport steering, etc.? Or does it disable those features also as default.

Genuine request here but if you do this, for sure start up a thread about it and let the forum know your results/findings. I see this as a possible cheat code for a whole new drive mode.

not a raptor, but I tried pulling the fuse out (#29). Still kicks in and cuts power in 4H (doesn't even allow me to long-press the traction off button, the traction-off light flashes once instead in a glitchy way).

in 4L, it does not kick in, and the hold-press disables the rest of the intervention.

I'm trying to read more about it, maybe I stumble on a solution that does not require mods, first.
