Sure the potential is there but I bet it is a very very small minority that buy a $50k vehicle, beat the piss out of it and the unload it before the warranty is up. It is far more likely that a traded in Bronco hasn't even been off road.
Granted, there are many mall crawlers and likely deals when the owners get tired of the payments and trade their Bronco in for something new. But it is human nature to want believe that people will take care of expensive things that they "buy". But it mostly depends on if the person actually spend their own money (pays cash) or it is just a risk calculation on borrowed money and insurance. I've read a few enthusiastic off-roaders on here who had to "let their Bronco go" supposedly because they couldn't afford the payments and lament not getting any credit for their mods. Also people who off-road for a year and then get tired of it. Ford is heavily advertising the Bronco as access to a new exciting lifestyle, for many, after battering their vehicle, it is just a passing fad and they move on.

Vehicles are depreciating assets, not investments... no matter what any salesmen tells you.
Depends on the car.. Zonda R purchase price was $400k, now it's $10 mil 😛

I’ve got a couple of special cars. I drive them 1000 a year each. I don’t really go anywhere anymore as I get older. It’s a stretch to even drive them 1000 miles a year.
When I bought them my goal was to break even in 20 years and drive them for free. As ford has increased their “special “ mustang prices to $120,000 and hasn’t made a convertible version since 2014 of them. It’s made the gt500 go back up in value quicker. I think I might even make profit on it when I do sell it. But when accounting for inflation I doubt I will

PEAK Mustang right there! Supercharged 5.4, manual trans, Recaro's and... the top goes down. A buddy in Ft Lauderdale has a Rapid Red '14 'vert that he bought during Covid for 50k. Under 1000 miles. He just turned down 70k.

For the past 3 cars, I have been in the market at tough timing. 2016 Pilot, 2022 (should have been 2021) Bronco, and 2024 EV9. All of those were the best fit cars for us and all of those were new models. So...no used cars of that model (Pilot was a massive refresh in 2016).

But...if I were to get any one of those cars today, I would get a used one. Best way to avoid the big depreciation. Let someone else take 75% of the hit for you.

As a general rule, the Base models will depreciate the least. The higher the trim and options, the greater the depreciation.
Definitely true for my 23 basequatch. Drove off the lot and it was immediately worth $15k more then I paid. It's worth a little under $10k over what I owe on it now, which it probably would be worth more if it didn't have scratches and a cracked windshield (just under 36k mi). Great to finally have a vehicle that I don't need gap insurance for lol

Mine has been the opposite. I have no intentions to sell, but I keep getting offers from my local dealer in the mail. Bought mine for $36k and I'm regularly getting offered $30k trade ins from the dealer -- 4 years and 32k miles later.

And the biggest moment of depreciating value for any new vehicle is when you drive it off the lot. Cars are good tools but bad investments.
Unless you keep it a long time

Apparently, it's worth $26,500 in "Good" condition and worth less in Very Good or Excellent!?!

One of the fastest ways to depreciate your bronco is to add a bunch of aftermarket crap to it that will make every potential buyer skittish. New wheels, 2" lift, body molding, engine tune, custom exhaust, etc. Any smart buyer would choose an unmolested car.

This isn't anything unusual. You have several things going against you here. First you have a high end model. You are competing against new and most people prefer to buy new for obvious reasons. New have better financing options, and when comparing prices you have to consider the incentives and discounts buyers can get on new which can be significant. And of course trade in value is many thousands less than retail because dealers need to pay expenses and make a profit. It isn't 2021 anymore, lots are packed with new Broncos. Buyers looking at your Bronco rightfully expect a bargain. Honestly, you are doing good to come out of this for anything less than $20K.

Bronco's just aren't bought by a "smart buyer"; they attract too many molesting perverts. :ROFLMAO:

Definitely true! About a year ago a dealer offered me the MSRP I paid to trade my 22 Base for a new Ranger. Bottom line I could have done the deal for $5K out of pocket. When it came time to sign, I backed out, couldn't let the Bronco go. Glad I did.
