Has anyone had any issues with the bronc bushing installed on the steering rack. Wanted to check if there have been any issues after extended use . One that broncobuster makes or any other manufacturer.

Broncbuster is not well liked here I’m sure you’ll find out. But opinions of the man aside. His steering rack product is pretty darn good (albeit overpriced).

I have been running a 74Weld bushing and Broncbushing in two different Broncos that were installed at the same time. Neither have had any issues to speak of through some abusive rock crawling, lifted on 37’s and fast paced desert running. I have had my BB on for 19,000 miles now.

Nothing is perfect though and I did break my first Broncbushing on my 2.0 rack. I believe I was the first to publicly break one. I was on a dirt track driving at speed and under steered (I know, noob). Right into a dirt berm at speed with my steering turned driver. The impact on my wheels drove them further driver and because my steering stops had worn out, it went past where it’s supposed to go and the tie rod nut smacked into the bushing and cracked it. Ironically it still worked like normal for almost 10,000 miles after that. Although it “broke”, I credit it for saving my rack by taking the blow and still allowing me to steer like normal.

Here is a tear down of the BB 2.0 steering rack after quite a bit of miles and abuse so you can see exactly where it wore on the bushing and housing. This is part of a five part series on other steering options so feel free to browse.

I had the Broncbuster bushing, It was from first batch that were made with too tight of tolerances. and made steering harder. So removed them. They did correct this in later versions of it, but offered no replacement or discount to anyone that over paid on the original version.

I ended up installing the rough country version ( another brand that gets no love here on the forum ) which I have had no issues with at all.

I installed mine about a year and a half ago with zero issues. I do rock crawl too. Been out to Moab and have done a few local trails near Las Vegas.
As I said, zero issues.

Its unfortunate the RC and VX Off-road versions appear to have gone the way of the dodo… oh well.

Indeed… but the bushing is MIA. And repeated attempts to contact have been ignored, so… yeah. I can read between the lines regarding possible external pressures being applied. Like I said, unfortunate.
Ahhh gotcha. I missed that. Oh well

It's a bummer. No way I'm spending $300 on a bushing. :(

After they sent me the 2.0 version and fighting that for a few days they finally sent me the 3.0 version. Got everything back together and took for a spin and my steering is super tight, and now I’m getting a whining noise ! Took tire off, tie rods off the knuckles and tried steering and same thing ! Except now it’s binding up ! That bushing is pressed in and c clip in, it’s not coming out to see if that’s the issue
