I should have taken all of the reports regarding the cheap ass windshields Ford uses for the Bronco seriously. My Big Bend has 2 major cracks from debris while driving on highway home. What a waste of money this purchase was. Less than 5,000 miles. My advise, DO NOT buy a Bronco unless you own a glass company.

Not the "cheap-a$$ windshield" it is the hazard of driving a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a shoebox . It is the same for jeeps and other off-road vehicles. I hear that the film that is available is worth the cost . It sucks that is cracked , but is the price that you pay for our poor mileage.

People shouldn't automatically assume that everyone is following too closely. My Black Diamond was 4 days old and I took a rock thrown from a tractor trailer coming the opposite direction. Crack went right across the bottom.

I drove 5500 miles across country and back, did Moab trails for a week and the only chip I have in my windshield after 17K+ miles was from the winter right before that trip last spring.

The Ford glass is utter garbage, accept this as fact. Get the aeroskin, and either a Pilkington or FYB windshield and just don't worry about it.

I'm a late November '21 delivery and am on my eighth windshield. Get thee over thineself.

8 is a lot bud. I got windshield coverage and not a scratch yet. Even haggled the cost of it at the dealership, but haven't used in over 2 years, so somehow I still got hosed.

OP is sore that he doesn't look at tough as he wanted with a cracked windshield. Ohh well, back to the minivan I guess....

hahah, nope, sadly, every freeway between home and work has been under construction for the last 3 years. pretty much constant stream of gravel trucks, concrete trucks and dirt haulers on the roads during the wee hours of my commute. And every one of them seems to be on the CDL version of a learner's permit, constantly hanging a couple tires onto the shoulder for the fun of it.

Seriously, bitching about a cracked windshield as a design flaw and cheap ass glass!! Come on!! At least it didn't hit you in the head which might have helped, it sounds like. You're going to act like you've never had a rock hit your vehicle before and chip/crack a windshield before and your blaming the manufacturer. That like buying toilet paper and while wiping your ass, the paper tears and you stick your finger in your ass and you blame the paper manufacturer because of what you did!

Sorry to hear about your windshield. Not sure that is the only way to value a Bronco. I have 19k both pavement and off road trails still have the factory windshied with no damage.

the windshield coverage installs a clear screen protector that evidently works wells.

All but one of our vehicles go through windshields..

Grenadier windshield is $2300 plus the tint we had on it. Lasted 't miles when someone decided to cross the exit lane white markings to get off the highway late and kicked up rocks.

FJ Cruiser we have had 4-5 windshields in over 19 years
Bronco hasn't needed a windshield at 25k miles

Haven't had to replace one yet at 16k.

Driving up here in the NE, I just consider windshields a consumable like tires. 1 BMW windshield, 1 Subaru windshield, and 1 or 2 F150 windshields (I can’t even remember) so far. Bronco good; for now anyway.

68k miles on mine, daily driven on highways, around 50-60 miles per day. I've had zero cracks, zero replacements needed, just one small chip from a pretty big rock.

So for you, they are cheaply made and break easy, for me they are standard strong automotive glass and very durable.

That's my real world Bronco experience.

Oh nooo! At this point, Ford should just include a "Buy 2 windshields, get 1 free" punch card with every Bronco. Or better yet, rename the trim from "Big Bend" to "Big Crack." You didn’t buy an SUV—you accidentally invested in a mobile rock magnet with optional glass shards!
