I have the SAS Badlands, I think it looks better, it has better clearance and is better for "rock climbing" you get better torque to the wheel in it. For general overlanding I don't see where it would be a must. If you plan on the rocks yeah maybe. I am pretty sure that you will get better...

my wife uses it every time she gets in with the doors removed, she is 5'7" and we are on 35's , no running board step. I have the strap handles mounted to the top rail that I use when the days have been longer than my legs...lol . I actually use the straps from time to time when I dismount.
They are Linskip brand and I purchased from Linskip through Amazon, more truthfully my wife bought them for me for Valentines day along with a Gearshade rod and reel holder for my Bronco. I cannot mount both at the same time.
