I’ve owned 2 Toyota trucks and 2 Subarus before the Bronco. I got bull’s eyes or small stars in 3 of the 4 that were repairable and a golf ball sized hole with a glass shower on my face in one of the Toyotas on the Alaska Highway in Canada. Shit happens and no non-armored car is immune to rock strikes. That’s why mobile windshield repair is a booming business and not a niche boutique market.

Many insurance companies will cover the cost of a small crack repair for free or cheap to prevent it from progressing into a bigger crack that requires a windshield replacement.

I should have taken all of the reports regarding the cheap ass windshields Ford uses for the Bronco seriously. My Big Bend has 2 major cracks from debris while driving on highway home. What a waste of money this purchase was. Less than 5,000 miles. My advise, DO NOT buy a Bronco unless you own a glass company.

Is it really the glass or the aerodynamics?

I know this a jeep but still applies to our brick shaped vehicle as well. Lesson to be learned? Should of bought a cow to avoid cracked windshields

No issues here at 14k miles. The wife caught a rock on her last two Mercedes within a few months. The 2nd one was driving home from the dealership after purchasing ! Told her to stop tailgating and no issues in the 2 years since.
Same for my wife’s MB as well. Lasted three months before a nice BB nugget hit. Gawd, you want to talk expensive glass! Bought the RainX windshield repair kit, filled it with the epoxy, and has been fine for the last 4 years ever since.

OP: any car with a windshield rake (lack thereof) like a Bronco is going to take some cracks eventually. No deflection, all impact. The rake on the wife’s MB is like a fully reclined lazy boy chair, and it took damage too.

Be thankful though, the 3rd day I had my previous GTI, it (and I) took the retread of an 18 wheeler and the Hyundai’s muffler in front of me that went over it and shot it up into the air, into my windshield at 70mph. Was lucky to walk away untouched.

The Ford glass is utter garbage, accept this as fact. Get the aeroskin, and either a Pilkington or FYB windshield and just don't worry about it.

I'm a late November '21 delivery and am on my eighth windshield. Get thee over thineself.

I got my first replacement windshield about 22 months after I took delivery. About 6 weeks later, damned if it didn't crack again.

Sorry. This is great. Worth the ban hammer if it happens.

85k miles and on my first windshield with no dings. After reading threads on this topic I made a hood deflector one of my first aftermarket add-ons. Dunno if those really make an difference or not, but I’ve been ding-free.

Almost 15k miles 0 issues. Maybe drive slower so the debris have a higher velocity impact than your vehicle, or avoid trucks with gravel loads? I’ve driven about Saint Helens, mount hood and other unimportant mount and volcanos where a lot of people are driving on gravel and I just keep a nice distance to avoid rocks flying at my car.

I should have taken all of the reports regarding the cheap ass windshields Ford uses for the Bronco seriously. My Big Bend has 2 major cracks from debris while driving on highway home. Stealership gave me a good price on the windshield warranty. Had one on my wifes outback and replaced four windshields with no out of pocket except the original 700 we paid for the warranty, seemed like a no brainer with the brick of a Bronco
