Was there an air gap between bumpers and tire? Or something else wrong?BUT - my tire bumpers weren't installed correctly either.
Your post started out reassuring, but then just reinforced my concerns at the end.

Thanks. I can totally see that being the cause.Yup that was it
Dealer had installed new wheels and tires with a lift kit, trying to get the manual Bronco off their lot. New offset rims. They did not replace or adjust the spare tire bumpers though and I didn’t know at the time to think to check. There was a very sizeable gap.
All of ford bronco hinges are painted body color … because they are assembled before painting. Including BRaptorsHas anyone done this? If so, pics please.
… okay , I painted my front plastic bumper tow hook cover but in a Braptor silver ish. Was going to also paint that support the same silver.@Q1svt : Just to clarify, this is the part I’m talking about color matching:

Although on the Braptor version, it might look odd with the texturing. I’d have to see an example first. What @Hbrichman posted was more what I had in mind.
This looks great - would likely go this route if I ultimately decide to get the reinforcement. Thanks for sharing!here is mine finally together, had it powder coated. And also have the Turn offroad TC4-M1 for the spare tire since the 38" didnt fit.
