Blind Spot Detection with Cross Traffic Fault Issue

My 2023 Black Diamond with 5,800 miles recently had an issue. After getting gas, I started it to head home and found that the windows suddenly no longer worked, and the AC climate console was dead. The side mirrors power adjustment were out, too, as was the idle start/stop. But the radio worked? A warning indicator showed a Blind Spot Detection with Cross Traffic Fault. Almost home, while at a light, suddenly everything came back to life. A short while later, I went out to move the bronco and the problem started again. Then, ten minutes later, it cleared itself- again. It seems to occur only after start up. Took it to Ford the next morning. The service tech scanned it and said that the vehicle history showed an incident where at least 20 modules had not communicated on the previous day. But because everything was currently working, they were not able to pinpoint the exact problem. They said that if it happened again, to bring it back in without shutting it off and they’d hook it up. Everything was groovy for a day, then it happened again. Exact same scenario. I called my Ford service guy and said I was bringing it straight there. It was a hot day and things were getting pretty toasty in the cab with no windows or air. A few blocks from the dealer, I tried the windows again (to get some relief) and suddenly everything started working again. My service guy came out to meet me in the parking lot and when I explained the situation, he just shook his head in disbelief. Once again, it needed to be in failure mode to diagnose the fault. Hopefully, the next glitch stays glitched till they can diagnose the cause but hoping someone here might be familiar with the situation? Thanks for any intel.

Not certain, but IMHO I'd "reboot" it by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes then reconnect it to see if that doesn't help. Pretty sure it can't hurt. Hope that helps. ;-)

My 2023, 5 days old and 200 miles, was just two days ago diagnosed with...low voltage and a bad battery. (They replaced it and are now working on some other issues they've found.)

While I had no faults like you describe, I know that symptoms not unlike yours will result from a failing battery.

If I read between the lines correctly, the faults disappear after the engine's been running for awhile and then reappear after the truck's been sitting? That correlates with a failing battery.

It's an easy thing to eliminate, if nothing else.

Ditto on the battery voltage. Check it in accessory mode, engine not running. I would also press down on all the fuses to make sure they’re properly seated. Also check all the grounds you can find.

Thanks for all of the advice. There’s no issues with the battery.Voltage is strong. No corrosion or damage to the wiring either.The Bronco will start up cold and run fine; the problem occurs when restarting it - after it’s warm - that’s when everything goes haywire. The consensus is it’s a connection problem somewhere between the modules. The Ford service tech took it out for a test drive on some really rough road, trying to get something to shake loose, but it wouldn’t cooperate. Because It’s intermittent, the frustrating part is getting it to Ford while it’s in the failure mode. It’s like I’ll have to drive around near Ford Service during business hours, and start & stop it until it goes wacky and then quickly bringing it there— a nearly futile scenario.

I just got my blind spot and cross traffic alert monitoring fixed. Apparently it’s a known issue with the wires rubbing on the bumper.
Ford gave me no issue in fixing the problem under the warranty even with an aftermarket bumper

I am getting these alerts courtesy of someone having smashed into my driver's side mirror with their truck mirror in traffic. Housing looks fine but the mirror glass is gone and the sensor wires are disconnected and exposed due to that loss. Repair estimate is $2k for that $600 replacement mirror assembly and code scanning to make sure that addresses all the alerts. Other driver offered $200 cash to settle up on the spot... umm.. NO. Now to fight for diminished value payout also since this will live on my car's record. Then to shop for more mods.

Hm... mine started doing this 3 weeks ago. Today it was nonstop, blind spot, cross traffic, then i noticed my windows dont go down and my HVAC controls don't work.

I've had several issues with my Bronco. Found this thread looking for others with this cross traffic alert and blind spot alert fault. Recalls are created by Ford if there are complaints made through the National Highway Safety Administration. Here's the link.
