I bought 5 method 315 and bfg ko3 and spent 4k on the package from custom offsets part of the reasoning I went with them was because I'm in a rual area and there is not a lot of options for a local tire shop that deals with custom wheels. They sell their product mounted and ballanced at the factory and tout that as an advantage. I picked them and paid extra for this service and convenience. Shipping and everything was good until I unpacked the wheels and noticed that they were mounted backwards rwl to the inside. They had it in the notes that I wanted the rwl on the outside. Why would anyone buy rwl tires and turn them in? If you want blackwall you would just order them black... any how they are offering up to 30 per tire to flip them. Problem is I'll probably have to drive 2 hours to the city to get this done. I kinda don't feel like it should be my problem, but they will not do anything.

It’s happened to me as well, the people mounting tires in the shop just crank through these in automatic mode I guess without thinking. If it was in your order form, that would help you get reimbursed or store credit for locally flipping and rebalancing; if not it is still worth trying to get on the phone to a real person at wherever you bought them.

There are times where the tire you want has RWL as an option on one side, there is no total black option and not everyone wants that outward. So yeah, there are people who buy a tire with RWL to face it toward the inner side.

Sorry your order got dorked though. That's still no excuse for the order being wrong. At least they are offering up some cash to get them flipped and acknowledging the mistake.

Part of the game you play when ordering things online - you don't get to see them before they get thrown in the box and drove to your house. The good news is that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to unmount and remount - pretty much any tire shop should be able to do that. Bad news is they will probably need rebalanced afterwards - which, again, most shops can do.

Problem is it's going to cost me time and money to do it.

Call whatever place you would take them to and get their cost and just have them reimburse you the cost to flip. Next time you bring it in for service or make a trip into town get them flipped, kinda sucks but it's either now or later, I'd just make sure they cover the full cost since it was clearly their fault.

Based on those messages, it appears Custom Offsets is trying to remedy the situation.

OP needs to calm down.
If I lived near a tire shop it probably wouldn't be a big deal but I don't, the local guy dosen't want to touch them cause I didn't buy from him, so it's a 2 hour drive to the city for a problem i didn't create.

Sounds like a two hour drive to get your tires flipped and get a nice dinner and beer.

By the looks of the posted replies from them they will reimburse the cost aside from the logistics which everyone here knows could be extremely challenging or not. Sure it's not perfect, sure it will cost you time and gas. But come on, is this worth the aggravation and rant on a public forum. Be reasonable and just get the issue resolved so you can move on in your life.

I cannot imagine it being more than $120 to flip the tires, we charge $90 to mount and balance 4, 5 would be $112.50 ($22.50 ea.).

No it isn't the perfect scaniro you want, not saying to accept anything but sometimes the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I know many people who have used them and other than their prices being usually higher than a crack head on a good trip they have always stood behind what they sell Just my .02.

My .04 would be to leave the black on, see if you can get the $30 per wheel as an aggravation fee, personally I never understood RWL tires on custom wheels, again JMO.

Good luck in your resolution OP!

Well on a $4000 order I'd expect them to at least offer more than the cost to flip. When you go to the restaurant and order a steak and they charge and deliver a burger do you just shrug your shoulders and move on? I don't think it's unreasonable to send me 5 more done correctly and have the carrier take the others.

You just learned the same lesson I did when it comes to tires and wheels.
Stay local / in person.

I apparently was given the shittiest rubber Toyo's they ever created. These are by far the worst tire I've ever owned, but since I had ordered them through Summit, nobody can do a damn thing to help me out.
Toyo has never returned a single correspondence.
All of a sudden , the local tire shop seems like a real bargain when shit goes wrong.

I also have to wonder why the local tire shop doesn't like your money ?
Small town like that, you'd think any amount of business would help.

At least Custom Offsets are trying to remedy it for you ... I got jack shit when I reached out.

Have you ever given him business before? Seems rather petty.
