I’ve been loving my bronco and have been taking it up to the mountains here in Colorado for the last couple of summers. There were some early questions on whether or not you could sleep in a two-door.

I am 5’8” and learned that I could use my Luna inflatable car mattress from my old Subaru Impreza and it fit almost perfect. It’s a dual chamber air mattress so it works great solo or I can expand it if I go up with my son.

One complaint I had however, was trying to level it out as there is about 12 inches height difference from the front to the back due to the seats folding forward and I was trying to come up with some sort of solution.

Yesterday, I built easy to break down bed platform, where I could rock it on one side or the whole back if I wanted to. It levels out the whole back of the truck and it’s easy to disassemble for driving.

You could easily just add a egg crate to the top of it and sleep comfortably or use a mattress if you have one.

Feel free to shoot me a message and I’ll send you the details on materials. All in it cost me $110. I’ve been debating making a movie on it so other people can do the same thing With the platform and my Luna mattress I can sleep fully extended front to back without issue. Somebody that 6 foot could easily sleep diagonally.

Ahem… car camping ???

Its the 21st Century, use the proper terminology, all the cool kids call it “Overlanding” these days.
Haha. Well. I’m not a cool kid. Usually just wheel to the base of 14ers and spend a few days running and hiking up them.

Nice setup. A few summers ago I hiked with my son to the top of Longs Peak. We started at the trailhead around 3:30am. Would have been more convenient to vehicle camp there.
Amazing man! I have yet to do longs but my son and I are knocking a few off a year and being at the trailhead for those 3:30 am starts is huge! We are heading up this weekend and will bag 4 more!

The fire extinguisher mount is a universal that is offered through multiple resellers on Amazon. Some will have their branding on it. Others will just offer the mount unbranded.

Nice! Sadly I am too tall,, so I have a roof top tent instead, which I am also a little too tall for.

I saw it called "Homeless cosplaying for rich people" and the name stuck.
