More then likely they are just suggesting to tape up the end of the fog light connector.
In my experience, yes only takes a few minutes to bolt on the bumper. The bumper bracketry did take a while for me though. Another nice factor of doing this swap is the modular has areas that are perfect for mounting fog lights that you can then wire in to your aux. switches!

The swap takes 3 minutes if you've done it before, 10 minutes if you haven't (6 bolts). Same for the Capable bumper, which sometimes can be had for around $100.

*Edit, that's swapping in an already assembled bumper, the kit comes in pieces.

If you bought the OEM kit, it requires a bracket swap rather than just lopping off the tow hook, so I'm guessing that might add on some time.

I did purchase the Factory oem skid plate package from ford.

If you bought the OEM kit, it requires a bracket swap rather than just lopping off the tow hook, so I'm guessing that might add on some time.

Bracket swap is super easy!

I completed the install last night… Pretty easy although the assembly of the bumper does take time
Also, the ford directions are just not good!
-Specify wrong sizes of torx and sockets
-questionable torque spec for new skid…59 lb ft seems aggressive

Mine came with a couple wrong bolts also. Email customer support, they should send you the correct ones.
