A big thank you to everyone for the feedback and insight. I think I’m leaning towards ordering an Outer Banks w/ the lux package, Sasquatch, painted hardtop roof and *probably* the 2.7 (still debating which engine to go with). I should clarify that I never expected a quiet and smooth ride. I knew what I was getting with a Bronco, but the difference between the stock badlands and the OB w/ the Sasquatch really surprised me. I’m not a fan of the stock wheels on the OB at all, I would have done the black appearance package but the black steelies are a hard no for my wife. And ultimately I think the Sasquatch package is the best looking option. I like having the off road capabilities that come with it but I just don’t see it happening. I would contemplate the aftermarket route for wheel/suspension upgrades, but this will likely go back at the end of the lease (roads are trash around me and I have young kids that’ll inevitably destroy the interior).

I took my stock OB on the motorcycle Continental Divide trail from New Mexico to Canada and only needed 4X4 a couple of times. I engaged the locker once, but really didn't need it.

Interesting, I'm going to have to check this route out.

As far as 2.3 vs 2.7, in stock (non tuned form), the choice of transmission makes the decision for you. If you want a manual, then the "sacrifice" of a bit less torque/HP of the 2.3 is no big deal. If you want an auto (as most would), then why not the little bit of extra grunt and natural smoothness of the V-6?

For most folks, if you have to think for more than 5 seconds about which transmission you want, your better off with the auto. A manual is a passion choice, an intentional vote for nostalgic "hands on" driving experience - those in the know already know.

Do I regret going with the manual? Very occasionally when I'm on the hardest obstacles (though the manual's lower gearing vs. auto is a pro) and the rare occasions when I'm trying to stuff a burger in my mouth, text my wife, and discipline the kids/dogs in the backseat all at the same time

This thread was the first heads-up for me that Ford went from RT tires back to MT for SAS in 2026.

Sounds like I made the same decision. I ended up getting an OBX SAS. Only difference is I didn't want the Lux package.

I prefer the look of the OBX interior. More like an SUV that will be a DD. The carpet should be less noisy.

The main thing I don't like is the plastic bumpers. Though justify them by figuring I'll get aftermarket eventually.
