I had a $50 gift card as well, so I paid 49.99, it was two years ago. It's been worth it. Think there is a way to turn it off with Forscan...

My Ford dealership checked the battery, and it was, indeed, going bad. They replaced it under warranty. Thanks to everyone for their kind help.

I’m going to the Bronco Off-Rodeo in the Texas Hill Country this Friday. Hopefully, it’ll be fun. Thankful to have a new battery for the trip. 😃

My focus would shut off the stop start if the computer would read the battery being under 70% of its life.

The cluster display on your 24 will tell you why it's not turning on the auto start stop. Navigate to Trip/Fuel and then select Auto Start Stop. The next time you stop, it will change and tell you "Disabled due to Vehicle Cooling/Heating" Or something like "Disabled due to charging" Ect.

It straight-up tells you why it's not auto-stopping the engine under the fuel economy tab of the dashboard.

Mine rarely works unless I been driving on the interstate for a while. As I understand it, the threshold voltage where it works or doesnt work is so low that your alternator is not able keep the battery above that threshold. As the battery gets older the issue become more pronounced due to the declining state of the battery. You could throw a trickle charger on it overnight if you arfe determined to have it work. Me, I never use it anyway so I dont worry about it. Good luck.
Alternator has no issue keeping ours above that threshold, but then it mostly goes on longer drives of 40+ minutes every time. If you're short-tripping it all the time, no, it won't keep it charged, but that goes for basically any alternator, not just those with BMS.

Well, the Auto Stop worked for the first day after the new battery install, but it hasn’t worked since then. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

It’s your lucky day.
If I was you I’d say a little prayer of gratitude that A.S.S. has magically gone away and then go buy a lottery ticket!

I have a 2024 Badlands with 19K miles, and the auto stop/start isn’t working. While I’m enjoying not having to switch it off manually, I wonder if this is indicative of another problem or problems that maybe haven’t surfaced yet.
have the battery tested. the ASS stops working when the battery starts to fail. mine was replace under warranty

You possibly have a parasitic draw (something electrical in your Bronco that is not fully turning off or shorting) that is draining your battery. Go to the AS/S menu while you are driving and see if it says it's not stopping due to vehicle charging.

If it's draining it below what AS/S will do in a day or two, it's something that will damage your battery and leave you stranded.

I don’t know why, but I’ve dug around for the AS/S menu, and I can’t find it. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

kind of aggravating that Ford didn’t test further when they replaced the battery last Saturday.

Found it!

ā€œEngine on due to outside air temperatureā€

I guess auto start stop doesn’t work if it’s too hot outside? It’s 92 here at the moment.

I've noticed if its above around 83 outside temp it disables auto start stop.
