Any Current Help From Ford with Hardtop Cracks?

Just noticed multiple cracks on my 2021 original hardtop... I'm out of warranty now. Are there any programs for replacement from Ford? Anyone been down this road and had success?

Nothing that Ford has released, and to be honest, I wouldn’t hold your breath for something.
You can always contact Ford directly and see if they’re willing to help out and get it repaired though. That’s your only chance.

I called, they gave me a case # and said maybe they could possibly offer some assistance, maybe. It didn't sound promising.

Aside from appearance, do you know the impact of the cracking. Will it get worse, leak, window fall out... any idea?

I feel like there's a soft top in my future.

Your best recourse is to find a 2-dr MIC being sold by another owner. Because every 2-dr came with a HT, there is very little market to sell. But for those who have switched to ST or have gone with another HT such as Armadillo don't want the MIC taking up space.

I doubt Ford will be of any help for a top out of warranty. They are breathing a sigh of relief as the older MY Broncos age out of the factory coverage.

I’ve never seen anything suggesting it’s more than just superficial cracks, but I guess time will tell.

This is what's called a latent defect.

There's another thread on here with a recent picture of a different MIC top that shows those cracks spreading and allowing water entry.

They certainly are not going to get any better.

The cracks will hold water soon. Mine did and it was getting like a sponge. It happens when water meets cardboard. Good luck....

Ya it is particularly shocking that they are still selling new Broncos with the MIC top when they should just stop using them and make the painted tops the only hardtop option; either black or colour matched.

What about painting the cracked top with Rhino Liner? Should keep water intrusion out of the cardboard.

Has anybody seen or heard the leading edge of the aft section cracking. I just bought a 21 Wildtrak and I have this issue. I have seen a lot of cracks around the windows but none here.
