Well... just read the lawsuit.

That is a gigantic serving of cash flow problems with a heaping side of "we don't actually know what we're doing".

Honestly this sounds like a business-ending event for ADV Fiberglass. No refunds means they don't have any cash on hand... probably because they gave it all to APG so he could (apparently) go off and manufacture hopes, promises, and dreams.

So those prototypes weren’t just cobbled up by hand . There is somewhere in china a shop that has tooling for these things and the pissing match is between APG and ADV.

So yeah they will be out on Amazon or Mabbet in a year or so

All I’m going to say on this is that we need to wait for both sides. I trust APG, I don’t trust ADV and I have no skin in the game.

People need to remember that ADV is making the claims in the lawsuit document. ADV is also the ones who took the money and been making promises.

At this point its pretty much a 1 sided story, waiting for the truth not the fake damage control.
Read the exhibits (agreements). APG had to be aware of that fact that, for years, ADV hasn't been delivering a product that APG was supposedly manufacturing for ADV under those agreements. And all the while, radio silence while people paid thousands for a nonexistent APG product.

There's no way in hell I'd give APG a dime.

Yup. They just need to ditch the close celled foam idea like the other manufacturers

No refunds if you got it and hated it.

Taking money, not delivering and not refunding that money is something the FTC would find particularly interesting.

I just want to say, even though I'm not in the market for a top (it's a 2dr anyway...), thank you to @Turn Offroad and @TURN Todd for producing the top that drew away a lot of buyers of the ADV top on 6g. I know @CTwaterfowler and @evgenyvasenev have to be breathing a big sigh of relief.

And to those still in the bind, good luck. I hope you get at least something back.
I am really sorry for everything that happened and for the people who are potentially losing their money. I am glad I made that decision. Now I am not missing the summer and I am able to take all the trips I was dreaming of!

This is why I said on day one, do not give companies like these a dime of your money before they have an actual product. I am not comfortable pre-paying for anything that is not actually in production.

When I heard ADV was charging people immediately, even though it was going to be a lengthy wait, I warned people to check their bank's charge back rules, and make sure you file a charge back before it runs out. Hopefully a lot of you did that. You absolutely cannot rely or trust on ADV to issue you a refund, especially not now. They needed your cash to finance this "operation."

I'm shocked more people didn't cancel, ask for refunds, or do charge backs, when it was pretty damn clear ADV hadn't produced any tops, besides a few influencer simps, and they don't count.

I'm sorry if some of you lost out on money, but people need to be much, much more cautious with their finances.

EDIT:
I have no skin in this game, but AFAIK APG is a good company that produces really nice products. I had never heard of ADV before, and it sounds like that group has had some major issues and shenanigans like this before, causing them to change company names or reincorporate.

The lawsuit will read like APG is the worst company and worst people in the world, that is the whole point. It is only one side of the story. Let's wait and see how this plays out.

My guess APG quickly realized that having ADV involved was a total waste, and that they could do this 100% on their own. They probably were not in as big of a rush to go to market as ADV, since APG is a well-established company with a lot of other products, including complete vehicle builds. There is nothing worse than sales trying to push or dictate the product group's tempo. I am an automotive engineer and technical seller, I know this world and used to work in the aftermarket space.
Is this the APG web site?:
https://automotiveperformancegroup.com/

If so, other than some single wall carbon fiber fenders/flares, APG doesn't seem to have much if any expertise in the manufacture of double wall products such as the hardtop in question. Why would ADV turn to APG for the hardtop? Neither of these two companies seem to have the experience and expertise to be producing the hardtop.

Here is what I posted back in October 2023, after reviewing ADV product offerings:
"My money is on the sandwich panel construction as the main sticking point. A quick browse through ADV products, indicates single wall body panels. The Bronco double wall foam core hardtop panels seem an outlier."

I would take care, if a company is getting involved with something that is outside of their usual area of expertise and experience, because as we see it can spell trouble. And I don't see APG now taking up the hardtop production, given they don't seem to have any more expertise producing it than ADV.

Advanced Fiberglass Concepts screwed me out of my hard top. I ordered it last June and they kept giving me different excuses from supply chain issues to the foam injecting system broke down. About an hour ago I got a call from them saying that I’m getting my $$ refunded to me tomorrow. The latest excuse was that their supplier promised a product and couldn’t deliver. They also said that an explanation of the lawsuit will accompany my refund check. Did anybody actually get one of their hardtops? Or was anybody else screwed over by ADV?

i just got the invoice for my tor top and am waiting for todds call for the CC information. scheduled to ship next week.

ALL I CAN SAY IS I DODGED A BULLET. when adv went from weekly updates to the projected 20 day business days updates i sent them the request for a refund first thing John was very gracious and I had the funds wired into y bank account the next day. huge sigh of relief. I was really hoping it wouldn't end this way but it has. feel for those who will get burnt. they lawyers will get their money and god knows when the customers will see any money.. could be years.

also the freight for the adv top is 400 more than the tor top, both in California. figure that out .

You need to check out this thread - and possibly contribute. It sounds like some customers are under the impression they can't get a refund:

ADV Production Modular Hardtop!

And no, nobody got a hard top.

They actually told you they would give you a refund?!?!

I received an email with a video that they would not be issuing any refunds.
