Wow. So the shoe has dropped more like an Anvil. ADV has decided to drag everyone down with them. Now all involved are in a full-on he said she said battle with somewhere a truth is told.

Meanwhile, people who spent their money is now left with their CC companies trying to figure to take a loss or get the money. This is now a full-on gaat rope, or more a Sh*** Show.

My thought in this is if APG was involved from the beginning, how was it that ADV was able to do refunds? Did the well run dry as many on B6g stated?

Wow Wow Wow.

just from advanced.... they screwed us all!

"
I am reaching out with an update on your Bronco Hardtop orders.

First, I wanted to genuinely thank you all for your patience and understanding as we have navigated delays and revisions that pushed the availability of this product further out than we ever expected, and I know how frustrating that has been, for you, and for us, as we have been eager to get your order to you.

Unfortunately, ADV Fiberglass has come to realize that our business was targeted and has fallen victim to a business manufacturing and production operation carried out by Automotive Performance Group, APG, in Garden Grove, CA, our business associate on this project. APG has been misleading us and engaging in deceptive, illegal, and unethical business practices – effectively feeding us inaccurate timelines, breaking promises, continuously requesting more money, and even going as far as filing a patent (solely in his name) for a product we, collectively designed and paid for under their own name. After finally discovering the truth, we realized that this was not the honest partner we thought we were working with.

Without any other avenues to pursue, and in an effort to seek justice for you and our company, we are currently in the process of pursuing legal action.

I am sorry to tell you that due to this, the hardtops ordered will not be delivered, and we have removed them as a product offering on our site.

I want to assure you that all the money that you paid toward this product to Advanced Fiberglass Concepts went exactly where we said it would, to the manufacturing and creation of this hardtop. Unfortunately, we trusted the wrong person and we are so sorry for this regrettable mistake. At ADV, we never take your business for granted and it’s devastating that ADV has fallen victim to an operation of this size.

Since learning of APG’s deception, we have also exhausted every possible option to try and manufacture in-house and deliver this product to you without APG’s involvement. However, right now, there is no avenue for us to take to fulfill these orders due to the pending patent that APG filed behind our back, without our business name included, that covered the bolt-together, slant back design. The patent, unfortunately, prohibits us from manufacturing our own design at our ADV facilities.

We are so sorry that this has happened, and we are extremely disappointed that we were not able to deliver on this for you.

If you purchased a hardtop, you may try to contact your credit card company to see if they are able to assist. Unfortunately, Advanced Fiberglass Concepts is unable to directly assist."

Wow!!! This sucks for those that tried to be loyal and continue to hold on to their order based on ADV's promises. That is a lot of money to lose. That sucks!

That was based on what @Tye said in another thread, concerning the top that APG put on the Lite Brite Bronco they built recently he was saying they were going to produce. This doesn't necessarily bely that, it just (supposedly?) left out that APG was part of the process all along, something ADV conveniently left out, as has Tye, who hasn't said anything since those two (?) comments on the other thread.

Whose telling the truth? What are the facts? We have a long way to go, and may never know. A lawsuit isn't proof of anything, and ADV's definitely been untoward about a lot of stuff. Throwing that all on an undisclosed partner and saying they can't refund anymore might be convenient, or it might be true, or it might be somewhere in the middle.
True. Who knows for sure how this will ultimately pan out and the culpable players. Time will tell.

APG was the manufacturer for years. ADV was the distributor for years. That, according to the written agreements. Seems like both are deep in the poo.

So they are done with the refunds? How would a credit card company be able to help with a purchase from 2 years ago? Hope people bailed in time.

OMG...i got scammed. 2 years waiting for this thing. Transaction is o long ago, my CC company says I have to do a manual dispute and send in a letter.

I'm not a lawyer, but ADV took the money.. they are the ones who should refund. Opening themselves up to a lawsuit of their own.

I hope we eventually get to the truth, but rn ADV has zero credibility. Until proven otherwise I will believe APG. Because ADV has done this before under a different company name and they’ve been lying the whole time about this top with for seemingly no reason. Why wasn’t APG’s participation in the creation known since the beginning? They have a good rep in the Bronco community, that would have bolstered sales.

ADV and APG both make Bronco fenders so they are competitors in some ways. Seems weird they were partners from the beginning but not on the front facing side
I called several times about the status of my hardtop because I wanted it. They always told me their supplier was delaying them. If APG was their supplier this entire time (as it seems that way in the lawsuit filing), maybe there was some agreement with APG to not say they were the supplier?

Looking through APG posts, just out of pure curiosity, I did find this

No refunds. No tops. Nothing.

My credit card company took all the info and will have an answer in 90 days if they can reimburse for the lost money.
