Honestly anybody that knows anything about manufacturing knows it isn't easy. Its amazing how you give someone a sofa and a keyboard and they become an expert in engineering and manufacturing.
Well, I'm no expert on engineering/manufacturing, but I know a thing or two about customer service/honesty/fair trade/and meeting expectations.
Sure, I guess it's my fault for paying in advance for a product that didn't actually exist, but should they really require a payment in full on a product they were unable to deliver in anything even remotely resembling a reasonable amount of time?

Lol I was thinking the exact same thing. This thread could have it built in a month or less ;).

On a serious note though, all most of us have ever really asked for are honest and relatively specific updates on why every delay is happening. The first 12 months sure, but the we are building a innovative and quality top/supply chain issues/we want to deliver 10/10 quality/assembly takes longer than anticipated line is not enough. Especially when you see them seemingly focus on other items.

Anyone who has placed an order is for all intents and purposes a partner in this project. Some are invested to the tune of $6k or more for approaching 2 years and would like to have a little bit of reassurance this is actually going to happen. Nothing of the sort has happened since a few influencers received their tops. We have all been invested in this since the first renderings were generated and they decided on a design. Transparency is all we ask to keep the faith.

Nobody said it was easy. Actually, my point is that it isn’t. But the “preorder” fake-it-til-you-make-it approach with this one is noteworthy.

Although I did the pre-order for the full amount like everyone here, I would have been much more comfortable with this wait if it was a deposit (even if it was non-refundable). Sure, I'll put down $500 that's non-refundable - That's a large enough chunk where people are seriously committed and won't flake out, and if they do, then ADV would be up $500.

How long did we wait for the Bronco, and Ford didn't ask us for anything more than $100 deposit.

They clearly needed the deposit money to help fund this venture. They handled this project differently than any other products they've designed.

When ADV decides to make new bronco/tacoma/etc. fenders they don't post a few digital images and put a link on their website to take preorders. They may post some teasers on Instagram and possibly a few people will give a deposit so they can get one of the first few sets.

Having dealt with Glassworks Unlimited (now Advanced Fiberglass), Fiberwerx, and McNeil racing in the past, they have never requested a full deposit for anything I have purchased. Many times they don't require a deposit at all depending on the popularity of the product.

The only time I've experienced them requiring payment in full is if you are requesting a custom mold. Custom molds are usually for when you want something different than they currently offer or maybe an uncommon vehicle they done see themselves selling much of. They will not waste the labor/material on a custom mold unless paid up front. Unless they feel the product is something they could sell a lot of in which they may ask to use your vehicle for measuring and fitment and would not require the added expense of a custom mold.

I just think, after COVID, the excuse of 'supply chain issues was used way to often for delays on literally any type of delivery or due date. Not saying ADV isn't experiencing real supply chain issues or shortages (I honestly don't know what to believe when they tell us anything), but I've been in real meetings and conversations where people just play that card immediately regardless of the alternative reasoning because no one bats an eye at it. Its so damn frustrating

I’m surprised someone hasn’t uncovered the root cause for the delay , I mean this is 6g after all

It's OCTOBER. Let the shipping notice watch begin.
Let's see who gets notified first.
Hopefully the install video will be posted soon.
This is the closest we have ever gotten before another devastating delay.
Good luck to everybody.
I wonder how many orders the got from this forum for the 1 piece and the modular

It’s too early in the morning for your level of optimism… :ROFLMAO:

But I do hope you’re right.

Well on another note, I contacted Armadillo on their top and what would be their delivery time because as I stated to them, I am sure they are watching threads with "other top" delivery issues, and was told if I ordered now, I would receive it in December to my home.

So.......I guess the only thing for me to do now is to find out.

I am still looking into this top. I like it and looks very well made. Would like to see in person or on other Broncos and feedback.

I’m sure a YouTuber will have one soon enough.
