This thread went a complete 180. It was meant to trigger the real off roading crowd to post pics of their adventures, and many did to prove they are not "The Mallcrawlers". Instead, "We The Mallcrawlers" came out in numbers to show that we have nothing to prove except our collective wisdom. Wisemen KNOW what their rigs can do, they KNOW what they themselves can do if the need arises, and there is no need to bash in bumpers or fenders, no need to "park" a Bronc on its roof in order to prove anything. This being the Internet, Fordified's picture shows that EVERYTHING seen or spoken about here has to be taken with a LOT of salt (not just the proverbial "grain"). I say" Mallcrawlers of America unite!" (this should be out battle cry).

That is funny. dang unless that picture was taken in the last few days I am most impressed that you have green grass in your yard.

I did take a wrong turn on the way to the mall once.
Ford Bronco Admit it, your rig is a "mall crawler"... top of the world

If your rig is still under warranty you need to have your GPS fixed. Otherwise go "old school"....ever heard of Rand Mcnally?

We were the only ones in the group using paper maps. well they are actually plasticky folding trail maps and the Moab trails book. the maps threw me for a loop because one map references another map but the two maps were different scales so nothing would line up took me about 10 minutes of cussing before I figured that one out.

May I suggest a nice collection of Topo maps and an analog compass?

These vehicles are soooo capable, it’s almost a crime not to take them off-road…
I love my Broncos and their capabilities in any terrain. Plus, you have the ability to go see amazing scenery & sites off the beaten path, you would never get the opportunity to without going off-road.

A cool pic sunk in a mud pit or like one of the posters, sitting on its side in between two trees is impressive.

But whats the reality of the aftermath? I'd be curious to hear some of the "damage reports" from these anti mall crawler guys and their escapades.

I know from the wrangler side, its not pretty. Electrical issues, bad alternators, dirt water in engines, interior electronics issues.

Pretty sure the alternator on the bronco is down low on the passenger side as well. And I can assume it doesnt like to be dunked in mudwater...

The alt on the V6 sits low, which is why the Everglades was only available with the 2.3.
My mud and water picture was over 30k miles ago.
I wash the hell out of it after outings like that, no issues at all.
I use it, sometimes fairly hard... But always check it over.
So far it has needed nothing other than the same maintenance it would of I only drove it back and forth to work.
