Most people purchase a vehicle due to how it looks and that it has the features they want. Someone may just like the styling of the Bronco and could care less about all the swaybar disconnects, lockers or any other offroad capabilities it may posses. It's not their fault Ford forces them to buy a Badlands or Wildtrack just because they want certain interior colors. It wasn't too long ago that if they wanted the 12" screen they had to go up to at least the Outer Banks and if they didn't like the interior they would have had to pay for a bunch of other stuff they didn't want. Sure they could buy a different vehicle if they never off road, but if you love the way a Bronco looks then a Prius isn't going to cut it. Let people drive what they love no matter what they choose to do with it. Life's too short to spend a good chuck of it sitting in a ugly vehicle :)
I do not think the vast majority of us would disagree with that.... But it is still fun to poke at people....
All in fun. and if we could include non verbal communication in here... I think more often than not you would see a wink and a nod.

I give people some grief when they have a Bronco, Jeep, Raptor, etc, that their driveway is as far off road as it has been... But it is their property to do with as they see fit.
Yes, I take mine trail riding, thru the mud... It has small chips and light pinstripes.
Then I will spend 5 hours spraying, scrubbing, wiping down... So I can sit behind it in a camping chair and talk to people about Broncos.
I love this thing, pretty much everything about it.
If I worked around home locally, I would fight my wife for the keys daily.... But I'm only home every 6-10 weeks so I just monopolize it while there.
She loves when I get home for a week because she knows I'm taking a day to go over it nose to tail... And probably go off-road before my therapeutic cleanup.
If a person wants to just drive it to work and Starbucks, then have at it. But you should try it for what it is designed for at least once.

Detail your bed lining process? Was it just spray on? Did you take them and have them done? I have been kicking around doing the flares and grille on my SAS.

Well said @Rydfree. There were three primary motivations for me ordering this vehicle as configured…

1. I live in Houston in an area that has seen a few significant flooding events and I went a vehicle with a nice clearance.
2. I love the look AND capability of it. I’ve never done any off-roading but I inherited my dad’s ‘74 FJ-40. Unfortunately, he was not the kind of dad who spent much time teaching me the many things that he could have, but I see it as a nod of respect to his legacy to learn some of those things myself. Maybe after I feel more comfortable in the Bronco I will feel comfortable taking the Land Cruiser off-road as well.
3. I have never purchased a new vehicle for myself. The wife has had a couple, but not me. Since I am turning 50 in a few months, I figured it was time.

I paid a local shop. $800 to remove, coat and replace. I provided the new fasteners, using the IAG kits. The Ford fastness are insane (you only need these fasteners if you have a Braptor; other trims come off without destroying the existing fasteners)

Honestly, the fact that my grandkids prefer when I drive them to school in my 2dr makes being a mall rat worth it.

No mall crawling, and I've got the receipts (pinstriping) to prove it!

Gold star if anyone recognizes this little campsite. I have a picture of the view (behind the photographer) but that would definitely give it away which I'll post if someone guesses it.

I’ve went a step further and transitioned to full pavement prince. I love the look and can completely tell a weight difference.

When we got our Wildtrak, it was because my wife wanted her “tank” of an SUV and loved how the Bronco rode. We thought we would do mild off-road roaring at the most, until we went out with some friends for an event and she discovered obstacles and crawling and loved it! We love having something that can do everything we need it to, and in comfort! Nothing quite like a Bronco!
