How many of you would buy a 2-door Bronco if it cost more than a 4-door Bronco???

I wouldn't own a Bronco if the 2-door didn't exist. I'd also (reasonably) pay extra for the simpler 2.3/7MT combo. I'd pay even more for an I6/7MT combination!

I know the 2-door isn't the bread and butter, Ford knew this when they planned the Bronco. They did it to appease the few of us and I appreciate it.

Now if I could get an extended cab F350 with a sunroof I'd trade in my crew cab in a heartbeat.

The thing is I'm the one paying the $60k and I'm not the one that'll be shimmying into the back seat, my son and grand kids have no problem climbing in the back and to me is all part of the fun!

Mine are still young enough that I'm reaching back there to buckle them up...so it's still my problem. If they were a few years older it'd be a different story.

It might sound like a weird comparison but I liken a 2dr Bronco to a Miata. They are both high on style/fun and low on practicality. Great for single guys and empty nesters. I would totally bite on a coupe or a 2dr Bronco one day if the timing worked out.

Well... yes... unless you factor in economies of scale.

There may be a time when there is a choice between cutting 2-door from the lineup altogether or simply charging more for the 2-door for the enthusiasts that really want it. We're already seeing this shift today: the 2-door Base is the same price as the 4-Door Base for 2025.

Personally... I'm in the same camp as @Smocaine and @Tricky Mike ... I would gladly pay slightly more for the manual transmission if it meant I could actually get the manual transmission. But I'm not sure how many of us are in that camp, or how many 2-door owners are in that camp.

Which is why I'm bringing up the question.

I personally wouldn't have an issue with 2 door pricing being the same as 4 door pricing because I'm an outlier as a consumer and if the two door costs more, then even I may have a decision on my hands. Equal or more money for less space is a recipe for failure in the North American automotive market in general. It's why Accords and Camrys are massive boats now compared to what they used to be.

Yeah... unfortunately... this is a reflection of sales—or lack thereof.

What killed the Bronco back in the 1990s was the fact that it was 2-door, Ford ultimately replaced it with the 4-door Expedition. The 4-door Wrangler exists because Jeep needed it to keep the Wrangler afloat. And the existing Bronco would not be possible unless Ford offered the 4-door.

Those of us who are manual transmission enthusiasts have been in a similar position for the past two decades. Economies of scale is needed to build these vehicles, and if the scale isn't there they have to make cuts. The only other option is to increase prices on the less-popular configurations.

Which brings up a good question: How many of you would buy a 2-door Bronco if it cost more than a 4-door Bronco???

The price of a 4 door was irrelevant when we decided to buy a Bronco.

It’s funny, I’m 70 and have always had an issue with 4 door any cars. I’ve always joked that I’m not old enough to be forced to drive my father’s car. From my first car, a 2dr Ford Falcon to my current 1971 Maverick Grabber and my 84 Mustang GT350, the 2dr Bronco fits right in with my other vehicles. I’m still sticking with no four drs for me, not old enough yet. Lol
ps: I’m retired from Honda and have only owned Honda 2dr hatchbacks.

Totally get it, I've owned 2 Miata's in my lifetime so maybe that's why I have the mindset I do with my Bronco! I will say you can pack allot of stuff in a Miata if you know how, used to love pulling into Lowes with all the pickem up trucks and dropping the top and putting 8 foot boards and a couple of bags of mulch and driving away!

In my experience, the sad thing is it isn't even cost of engineering or economies of scale that kill smaller projects, it's often just an unwillingness to maintain inventory/supply chains for all the extra parts. Outer Banks is 4-Door only and has one interior color now but that's 60 fewer interior trim part numbers that Ford has to keep track of in their system.

When they first came out, you basically did if you wanted Sasquatch. They charged you for the automatic, even if you wanted the manual. That was one of the benefits of the original heritage edition you didn’t not get the automatic transmission tax.

If mine was not a 2-dr with a stick, I would not own a Bronco.

Love the 2 door. It gives me the vibe of the ones I saw as a kid..
but I'm old...
and now own a new "2 door".
