My first driving experience was a 55 Chevy with a three on the tree. When I first started getting interested in Broncoās, the automatic wasnāt even an option. And it goes without saying, if you wanted a Ford with 4 doors and no trunk, it normally came with wood like vinyl on the side! How about a 2dr with 3 on the tree?![]()
That's perfect. I was firmly in the "if a Bronco doesn't come with 3 on the tree..." camp, but 40 some years later I gave in.How about a 2dr with 3 on the tree?![]()
There is no economy of scale argument to be made in favor of dropping the 2.7 Ecoboost from anything but the Stroppe. Because for every additional 2.7 2 door, the cost of manufacturing it drops. Sure, in theory, it might raise the cost of the 2.3 liter 2 door, but there is no reason to drop the 2.7 Ecoboost from the 2 door models that remain available. With a vehicle manufacturing background, I always factor in economy of scale.
My first car was a ā64 Falcon. Learned on the I6, 3 on the tree. But I turned it into a 12 sec built 289.Itās funny, Iām 70 and have always had an issue with 4 door any cars. Iāve always joked that Iām not old enough to be forced to drive my fatherās car. From my first car, a 2dr Ford Falcon to my current 1971 Maverick Grabber and my 84 Mustang GT350, the 2dr Bronco fits right in with my other vehicles. Iām still sticking with no four drs for me, not old enough yet. Lol
ps: Iām retired from Honda and have only owned Honda 2dr hatchbacks.
You just said a cotton-pickinā mouthful! 100% right. We, the Boomers and Gen-X, screwed up the Millennials and this is the Hell that we earned for ourselves.

To be fair, whomever has to shimmy into the back seat, isn't the person who paid $60k for their Bronco...I also get the love for the 2dr; they have a nostalgic feel. To your point, people don't want to spend $60k to shimmy into a cramped rear seat.
If I had the luxury of keeping a Bronco as an "extra" vehicle, I'd definitely consider a manual 2dr. For a family of five, the utility of a 4dr wins all day.
Everybody wants a 2 door. Too many people have kids and canāt.As passionate as everyone in this forum is about the 2-door, it is not what most people want. Look at the dealer lots. If you want a 2-door, there are hundreds to choose from. If they have 4-doors on the lot, they are usually soft tops or a Raptor. I love the 2-door look, but Iām driving a 4-dr Heritage. If demand keeps dropping, donāt be surprised that the 2-door is discontinued in the future.
My first Ford. And If Ford built a decent 2 door regular cab w/ a 6.5 ft bed I'd still be driving one. Column shift. My Grandfather found it and because he drove column shifts I got one.How about a 2dr with 3 on the tree?
I'm looking forward to the 60th anniversary. If I like what I see, I'll advertise my unicorn OBX for sale here.Makes me shudder just thinking about what Ford has in mind for the 2026 Refresh.

Which brings up a good question: How many of you would buy a 2-door Bronco if it cost more than a 4-door Bronco???
