Checked fluids a few months ago and remember the coolant looking a little close to the minimum mark, but don't remember exactly the level

Today, at 4000 miles, I took this picture of it cold....

What should I do next

Add coolant. If it keeps getting low then go to the dealer. I have 2.7L ecoboost and I always check my coolant cold and put it at the max level so I have a reference. For the first 1000 miles or so it stayed consistent after the initial top-off. Now it's losing coolant somewhere and I can see traces via black light on the back side of the radiator, passenger head. I have an appointment with the dealer first week of January. It sucks but it is what it is.

Top it off to the max line, and keep an eye on it... at 4K miles, it should be stable (trapped air is purged out), and the level should stay, if there is no problem. If it continues to go down, get it checked out.

For some reason the coolant gets low in the first few thousand miles on many/most new broncos like was said above, on the 2.7 and apparently the 2.3. Maybe it is purged air as mentioned, I don't know. Both of mine did it and have held steady for about 15,000 miles since adding about a quart at 20,000 miles. I didn't notice it as soon as I should've due to that fill column on the right side of the overflow tank.

My 2.3 did the same thing. I happened to be at the dealer getting a state inspection, and they topped it off for me. That was about 2 years ago, and it hasn't done it again since.

Ive got a ā€˜24 badlands with 2.7L , has 13k on it now, I’ve had the same issue, have topped mine off from minimum I believe 2 or 3 times, every so often I catch a slight smell of antifreeze, can’t believe something like this is happening on a brand new truck, can’t see anything obvious, wondering if there is some kind of design/manufacturing flaw going on, please post the results of you dealer visit, thank you.

It may take longer to understand my own issue. I thought I was completely air free at 4k miles and scheduled the appointment for Jan 5th. After another top off, the level has stabilized again and no further coolant is being consumed/leaked. I did notice the flange bolt on the coolant line to the passenger turbo was loose but I doubt that is an issue. Being loose would not to my knowledge allow the o-ring to unseat. I know I saw coolant on the passenger side but without an active leak I'm not sure what a mechanic would do about it so I'll just have to wait until it starts again. I'm back to watching the level again and seeing what happens.

My 2023 2.3 was losing about a quart of coolant between oil changes (5K miles) and my build date was within a week of the 2.3 recall for 2.3’s built in March of 23 that dealt with coolant loss so I was convinced it was part of that recall. Took it to the dealer twice with no leak found and then suddenly at around 30,000 miles it just stopped losing coolant. Makes no sense but that’s been almost 10,000 miles since I’ve had to add any.
