Just wanted to check in and see who else has a 2024 with orange coolant? Today I noticed my reservoir is below the MIN level. It’s my understanding that ford phased out the orange in 2020 or earlier. Then the P-OAT yellow started being used. I know the yellow is backwards compatible but, why does my bronco have orange coolant from the factory? Seems strange to me. Should I use a parts house orange or just use the motorcraft yellow?

thanks

I wouldn’t mix colors - I’d sooner put straight water in it

None of the Broncos came with orange coolant from the factory. Did you buy it used or something?
Maybe it just looks like a darker color because of the age/mileage?
Either way, just use yellow, because that’s what is correct.

Right and that’s the strange thing, this was a brand new bronco from factory. Purchased at a dealership in Evansville, In. Currently has 15k miles. I looked at it again this morning. Tried to convince myself the coolant was yellow but it’s just orange looking and also has some sediment floating in it. It’s way below minimum when cold. Almost to the bottom of the reservoir. Has about 3/4” of coolant in reservoir. I am going to top off with yellow and monitor it. If it still has lots of sediment in it, will take to dealership to look at. Not been running hot at all.

Off color + sediment + floating particulate = FLUSH & CHANGE
