Just 2 of us, haven't watched the TV in ours much, AC is broke in ours now and don't know if I care (We chase moderate temps, desert in winter mountains in summer) and we always seem to go to dry climates!! Perfect!

The only drawback I could see was lack of storage for food and clothing
Sounds perfect... I am hoping to do exactly that now that I am retired. I plan to mount some additional storage for extra clothes. When I was living in it I was finishing up my military service in Corpus Christi in the summer, so AC was a must.

My camper is about the same size as the 17SCD.

Essentially what my trailer looks like.
Thanks! What make and model is your camper?

Towed my son’s car to his shop with the Bronco today. Car weighs 4100, no clue what my all steel trailer weighs. 1500#?
There are some decent hills on the route so purposely loaded it a little tongue
heavy to reduce chance of sway down the hills. I was very surprised how stable it felt given the fact that I didn’t air up the tires and I’m on soft Eibach’s. The 2.3 had plenty of power. I’m on 35’s with 4.46 gearing. Soft suspension and hitch mounting are the only limiting factors for towing with these. Maybe a 2-door would have felt a little iffy, IDK. The sway control is amazing… apparently.

Timely, I just towed a 6x12 U-Haul filled with my daughter’s furniture up 95 to DC with my 2 door. It was filled to the brim, and so was the truck. King size bed and frame, full sofa and lots of other stuff. I was pleasantly surprised. Had it on CC at 74 mph most of the time. 14.5 MPG. Felt good. I normally tow with a 2500 Suburban 8.1 4x4. Didn’t want to have that beast in the tight roads of the district. I would definitely tow again with my 2door if I needed to
This is good to read. Next month I'm looking at towing a uhaul 6x12 from Maryland to Atlanta. Glad to hear yours handled it well

We got the 2-door home several days ago. Almost got a Rove Lite, holding off for now since we have to get rid of the 28' TT first.

Yea those Eibach springs are pretty squishy lol. I was afraid to pull it with less weight on the tongue. Felt surprisingly stable though. Wouldn’t do it very often, I have an Excursion for towing.

I have a 4 door Big Bend and hauled my T@B 320 camper from Minnesota to Arizona and back. No issues driving highway speeds of 70+ or going up and down mountains.

Personally, I don't think I would have wanted to do that with the two door. I would want to find a smaller and lighter camper if I was determined to go two door.
The wife and I really liked the Tab 320 we looked at but a new one was a little more than I wanted to spend. We found a couple used 320's but they still wanted 16-18k for a 2017 model. We just purchased a 2024 Rubicon 1400BH on clearance sale and haggled the OTD price to $11,700. I think it will suit our needs for what we plan to do and I think the 2 door will pull it fine with brake controller and load leveling hitch setup. Will probably only use it 3 times a year anyway.

honestly it’s not that bad.
I have a lot of towing experience (CDL) the 2.7 has lots of power, the 10-speed has great gearing. The 2-door Sasquatch should be unstable as f*** but it honestly handles way better than it should. However the weak spot is the hitch receiver, that thing is a joke if you plan to occasionally pull anything with a tongue weight even off road around home just moving something quick it can and will break or bend. Technically it’s only rated for 350lbs of tongue weight. I bent mine and had to get the LOD off-road destroyed rear bumper with integrated trailer hitch. I would recommend doing this before you bend stuff.

Yep! The factory receiver on the cross bar is so weak, it flexes with our MTB hitch rack. I've only moved small trailers around the lot, don't trust the hitch setup to tow down the road. Talked to LOD a few weeks ago, I'll probably go that route on both Broncos. Their Black Friday sale starts on the 27th!

Agreed, it truly needs reinforcement before putting any serious tongue weight on the hitch. It tows ok with my 16ft 2500# camper, but I limit my speed to 70 mph.

I'm in a similar setup. I just allow the extra time and hit 55-60 mph tops when towing. Zero issues through Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin.

My son owns a body shop, he explained to me years ago that if your towing anything 1 lb over the rated capacity your insurance company will not pay the claim and the Liewers will have a field day with everything you own! DWMYH. I towed my 16' Featherlite flatbed trailer 1400 lbs with approx. 200 lbs of steel roof panels on it for 180 miles and it worked fine. I did not like the way it felt, a little to sketchy for me and I have a CDL. I'll use my 3/4 ton p.u. next time, thank you.
