Probably torque management not to blow out the transmission (fords worry). I had a jl diesel (amazing transmission) and people did dyno pulls and first gear would deliver like 50% torque in first gear. Where in higher gears it was 100%. This was found by tuners, they will know best on this stuff

My 2.7L with 2400 miles does the same thing. If I'm stopped at a light, then punch it to take off it launches slow then accelerates as expected after a couple seconds. I figured it's just turbo lag. Once I'm rolling, there is no lag.
Not a turbo lag, and not chopping as it shifts (I'm very familiar with what both "feel" like), the best I can describe mine is a stutter as it accelerates, in gear (and of course this is more profound in the lower gears like 2-4, I'd say). I tried turning off traction control and it made no difference. It's possible it's more pronounced after initial startup and doesn't linger as much as the car has been running, but I'm not sure...

@Wildruby I've also wondered if this was something that's likely going to be fixed by a tune... I hate the thought though, considering I already have the ProCal tune and don't want to do anything to void my warrantee.

Mine does it sometimes too, but it's rare. I wondered if it was just confusion between the port injection and the direct injection routes and depending where the throttle position is at. But I'm not sure when/where that change over occurs from port to direct, so could be totally wrong.

I've also noticed sometimes that when I'm accelerating and I look down at my gauges, I notice no turbo usage, yet other times when accelerating in about the same manner and location, I see the turbos spooling up a bit. I run the summary tab on my dash that shows boost, oil and transmission temp as well.

I also feel a shutter or vibration as I accelerate. Do you think that is caused by the turbos spinning up?

My 23 WT- with the Ford performance tune- does this too. It feels like the fuel pump cutting out when first accelerating- it hesitates for 1-2 seconds, then it really kicks in. When I drop my kids at school in the morning and have to pull out quickly in traffic- it’s made it a little dodgy at times. It must be some transmission thing since the fuel pump works ok after. 🤷‍♂️

Curious if any of you are experiencing a choppy launch when you first get moving in your 2.7L. Mine acts like the fuel wants to cut out for a second and then it gets going. It is perfectly fine on the highway. Around town is pretty frustrating. I have 11,000 miles on it so it is likely not the learning of the transmission.
What GOAT mode are you in?

Just curious, sorry if I missed it within this thread, but are you Sasquatch or 4.27 rear locker, or non locker?
When I test drove a few broncos before buying, all 2.7 but none Sas or rear locker, they started off a bit smoother than mine which does have the 4.27 rear end gearing for the locker. Not sure if that matters here, but thought I would toss this out there.

2.7 auto here. I feel it more when it’s cold, then it smooths out as it warms up. Maybe the AF ratio in the tune needs to be richened up at low temps, like when an old carbureted engine with no choke stumbles when cold. My modified Silverado had this problem years ago and that’s what fixed it. That and or the tune has too much torque management.

I experience this when cold and at operating temperature.
