Anyone find real world testing comparing the two different motors?
I’ve searched and can’t find anything on 0-60 times and such

I have the 2.7 and I just love it, better to have all that power and not need it , then to need it and not have it. In my opinion.
I am of the same mindset. I have the 2.7 on order and my lucky lot find is a 2.3. It has enough power. The word sufficient fits that motor well. I’m excited to see how well the 2.7 does

all good. got to ride a 2.3 and it was great. assume 2.7 is a rocket for a bronco and 2.3 is close behind.

Thanks. I hadnt seen that. I always wondered how they compared. They used the sahara though and not the rubicon so a 2.0 rubicon might still be faster to 60 than the bronco due to the shorter gearing. The Bronco is going to have the advantage on the 1/4 mile though due to the higher displacement and dual turbos.

People forget that the 2.3 comes with the deficient vacuum assist brakes. Aren’t they worried about stopping? How about losing one pedal drive?

I was destined to have the 2.3 because I had to have the 7MT. I added the sprint booster to the pedal. I have the 2.7 in my F150 Lariat Sport.

That said, I have no complaints with the 2.3/7MT combo. Plenty of power, no regrets.

I like the simpler motor and much lower cost of the 2.3/7MT.

my .02

I have a 2 door SAS 2.7. I only drove 2.3 before ordering, I felt it didn’t have enough oomph on the Highway for passing, it’s not sluggish, but I guess I just expected more. Ordered 2.7, it has none of that. It goes when I put it down, no lag. Even before I added pedal commander (does throttle mapping on the ECM) I was happy with the 2.7, but with the pedal commander it’s a little crazy actually, feels more like a deleted Powerstroke.

The 2.3 is similar to the Jeep JL 2.0, which I had in my JLU. Pretty quick and didn’t feel underpowered.

I have the 2.7 with 4.7 gears in my Bronco and I can tell you it doesn’t struggle at all. It’s pretty damn quick as well, just ask the guy in the Hemi Ram tonight who thought he could take me at the light 😄

My '21 2dr OBX has the 2.3 but for my '22 2dr Badlands I ordered the 2.7, I'll be curious to see the difference whenever it arrives. I think adequate is the right way to describe the 2.3. My guess is if you have never driven a Bronco with a 2.7 you probably won't miss what you don't know.

I have both in my garage right now. 21 OBX 2.7 2-door. 22 Base 2.3 2-door. What do you need to know? The 4 cyl is like a Mazda Miata. Plenty quick. Fun to drive but not going to beat too many other sports cars. The 6 cyl is more like the Nissan Z 3.5. Lots of giddy up power that gets you where you need to go quickly. 2.3 feels zippy and light on its feet. The 2.7 feels heavier and you can feel both turbos kick in. Both are more than enough for off-roading, cruising through the mountains or commuting, so either way you will be happy. Find a dealer with both engines and compare for yourself. It’s not an easy decision so maybe just get both! 🤣🤣
