Iāve been in various roles for vehicle systems manufacturers most of my career, and Iām borderline old. The actual manufacturing plant is rarely the issue anymore. They were a common issue a few decades ago, but those days are over. Now, it almost always comes down to engineering failures or...
Very good review as usual. I totally get the point of having the Jeep for an extra year and a half. Thatās a long time and quite an equalizer. Many here have dropped their reservation for that exact reason, and I have to admit being at the beach surrounded by Jeeps this week while I drive my...
Iām convinced you arenāt going to get my Badlands Bronco within $10k of what I will pay Granger until 2024 and maybe never. Ford is going to raise the price significantly once theyāre through the price lock. Dealers are then going to mark up like crazy, especially for higher end Badlands models.
Snail mail was really cool. The email, not so much. Would have been nice to receive at least some forward looking comments (MY22 can be specād starting DD/MM). Oh well, the grind goes on
The gearing is not an issue. Hard stop. There are two reasons for people to buy 33s and upgrade.
1. They want to choose a specific wheel or tire. Lots of people in this category. Save on purchase price, use the $2200 to help fund exactly what you want.
2. My Category. Not sure I...
1. The Badlands on 33s might cut the difference in articulation, but Wrangler is going to still win. I mean, that wasnāt close.
2. The #1 sacrifice of IFS is articulation. Rock crawling is the activity where that matters most. Even a push on a course like this is good news for the Bronco...
Was able to drive a Wildtrak today. Told the sales guy that Iād have brought my boy had I known. He said, āwell, letās pick him upā since I live only 15 minutes away. I moved my reservation from that dealer so I felt a bit guilty, though he didnāt seem to care.
pulled in to the driveway, fam...
We need to sell our riding mower in order to fit the Bronco in our garage. Iāll be pushing a mower starting next summer, which will suck. We bought it for our previous house that had a much bigger yard and itās overkill for our current one (none of our neighbors own a rider). But still...
How much does it cost to replace standard Badlands wheels and tires with aftermarket tires and wheels? How much are the stock wheels and tires worth if I sell them brand new?
There are 3 options Iām considering.
1. SAS at $2200
2. Immediate upgrade. (new tires and wheels) - (what I can...
Individually a warranty can make sense if your finances canāt handle a failure. Collectively people who pay for them are setting their money on fire.
I would jump all over a soft top if Ford offered some kind of price guarantee on a MIC top down the road. The difficult part of this swap is that it comes with such a massive price risk if customers end up not liking the soft top. Iād even pay for dual top with the MIC if it were fairly priced...
Right. This is completely expected. I expect the non-SAS BL to be the best balance between these competing attributes. Iām betting on that with my money so hope Iām at least close to right.
Another variable is the sound deadening in the engine compartment for vehicles with high package, though I doubt that makes much difference at highway speeds compared to wind noise.
35ā are beefier, which is clear from the specs. Iām still going with 33ā because it think it will be better for daily driving while still being more that sufficient off-road.
HOWEVER, the #1 factor in my decision is that I can easily upgrade to 35s. OEM rubber tends to wear out quickly and...
I understand that as a dealer this is also less than ideal. The āhotā vehicles have The commodities in high demand and thus seeing constraints. Iām sure dealers prefer vehicles reservation holders have demonstrated are in high demand.
I realize Ford is in a tough spot, but the decision to...
āYes, Stock units will come out of our allocation. Retail orders will take priority over any stock unit.ā
This is a very deceiving comment. Allocation commitments being met over buildable reservations at other dealers means retail orders only take priority once allocation is met. Which means...
During spring and fall, Iāll likely ride around with the clam shell removing the other panels as desired. When the weather is hot (4 solid months in North Carolina), I want the entire hard top in the garage. How do I pull this off without a full blown soft top is the question. My plan so far...
I was planning to go the AM route until I saw the bags used in a video. They seem sturdy and well designed. Doubt Iād save more than $100 since the bags are door specific. Going with Ford on this one.
