My guess:
1. Bug fixes like sound deadening and roof rail conflicts.
2. They add late availability, maybe even state which options are 2022 (though I donāt expect MY22 clarity until mid-December).
Late availability items of most interest:
Mod Tops, Swing and slide tailgates, painted tops...
Everyone should read this post. I think wait and see people arenāt comprehending this. Once the reservation period is over, Broncos are getting a markup at every dealer. I suspect that will be true until at least 2024.
I just hope Ford lets me self-select the MY22. That would remove a ton of uncertainty. The features I most want:
1. Mod Top
2. Swing down rack on tailgate (pull out too but only if itās in the $400 range - I suspect it will be priced much higher)
3. Light gray MGV
The rest of my BL is spot...
Esteban said during a walkthrough video (posted here, couldnāt find) that the optional non-Sasquatch BL wheel has a decorative ring that can be removed and replaced with a bead lock capable one. That must be why it isnāt listed as bead lock capable since it requires an aftermarket modification...
Once I hit $45K on my BD build, I decided a vehicle that expensive was a no compromise purchase. For me, that includes the 12ā screen. As much as I like the bead lock capable look, those standard 33ā wheels and AT tires are an absolutely perfect balance of daily driver with off road chops...
Thatās my point though. The bottom photo is still pre-production. Itās possible production tops will be darker, or closer to the cgi images.
we know it wont be shiny so it will NEVER match the column. But it might match the tailgate clamps that have been shown to be much darker.
here is my guess: Ford clearly wants to use the hardtop to differentiate high trim models and drive a premium upgrade where not standard. Late availability might force their hand on this one point of differentiation, color.
1. Material. Hard shell (whatever that is) versus plastic.
2...
I did the math in a different thread borrowing RPM from yet another thread (the forum needs an FAQ because searching is difficult with so many overlapping threads and endless pages of comments).
There is a 123 RPM difference at 70 MPH assuming both are using 10th gear. Nickp correctly pointed...
Friend bought the TRD Pro for $55k and he is clearly struggling to control his jealousy when I told him all the things that come with my $52k Badlands.
1. 33ā tires
2. 12ā screen
3. Front and rear lockers
4. auto 4x4
5. Removable top!
6. Drain plugs
7. Aux switches
Iām sure he comforts himself...
MIC
4 pieces. Driver side half, passenger side half, full width section over rear seats, clamshell.
Mod
Modular top adds removable windows to the 4 pieces described above (so 6 total).
Dual
Im not sure if this means you get both mod and soft tops OR itās the front row only soft top option...
So Iāve been reading up on the hard tops and have a question. There have been comments that a panel Can be added behind the rear seats with a cover to act as a trunk. Is this an accessory that will be available eventually?
I havenāt seen much discussion. This option with a Bimini canvas top...
This is it. They are trying to spin having your reservation all along in to ācome on in so we can pressure you to place a deposit.ā It wonāt be an order, but a printed B&P and sales agreement will make it look like one. When Ford updates B&P theyāll treat it like a change... āthis will take...
Iām becoming fairly solid on my decision to go soft top and address a hard top in the aftermarket (if I decide I need one). There are tons of jeeps driving around NC with soft tops year round.
Comment on this plan:
1. Get the soft top saving $1,200 including no headliner.
2. See how MIC turns out, if I like it then plenty will be for sale from owners upgrading in the aftermarket (or from Ford in an exchange).
3. If I donāt like the MIC, buy the Mod through Ford or an aftermarket...
Black was supposed to be part of the mod top upgrade. They were trying to differentiate by shade to encourage upgrades. Lose the upgrade option and it suddenly doesnāt make sense.
The best thing Ford could do is add a model year toggle. Worst case for them is so many buyers shift to MY22 and they use the capacity to stock lots with MIC topped, dark interior BLs and Bases. But that seems unlikely. Customers could self sort and your reservation time stamp would still...
