@Ducati1098...it looks to basically be a WT, which seems to be making a come back. Would the 3.0L drop right in there? A V8 could add to exclusivity, though. They could sub out some fancy magno-AI-load leveling-height adjustable-plushy suspension, too. There is a percentage of the wealthy community that does value American made, which could give an edge over the G Wagon and Defender for that percentage. A 2-door is more of a specialty toy type car that could appeal to someone with 4 or 5 vehicles. If it's luxury + Redneck Sporty, more exclusive with premium pricing, I bet it could justify itself in the design cycle for the G7. For the more pretentious of the world, there may be in the market for such a thing. Plus, Lincoln could use something a little more fun in there line-up. I know for me in my Sr years with more disposable income...I might hear Lincoln....but I think "Town Car"....and not a cool Town Car....yuck...

Just remember that Lincoln DID at least try with the LS...complete with a manual.

I never understood that car. Did they buy the plans/specs for a Mitsubishi Diamanté?

Platform share with Jag...the S Type was the Jaguar equivalent while the X-Type was the Mondeo (also available in manual and my AWD has gone close to 200K miles).

If it comes out looking ANYTHING REMOTELY like that gawd-awful rendering, it will be DOA...🤮
I think a lot of people expect something closer to the look of the Bronco. But I mean that's exactly what I would expect a "Lincoln bronco" to look like.
Basically just a slightly more capable Aviator look.

I was thinking the same. Only thing I would tweak on that rendering is I don't think it will have that much clearance.

I personally believe the Filson hits the mark better than the rendering. Keep the Bronco's off road chops but give it a quieter, more plush interior would be the angle IMHO. Ditch the removable top and doors, add lots more sound deadening, and upgrade the interior plastics with better materials and fit. Then throw in some unique feature....like maybe a V8 or fancy suspension...and sell it at $80K-$100K. I doubt many people are going to cross shop a Lincoln with a new G-wagon. Land Rover, Lexus GX, and Eneos....yes. My impression is the LR cheats towards luxury, the Eneos cheats towards honest to God capability and the Lexus seems like the balance Lincoln should aim for.

Again, just my personal opinion....but the G-wagon is a novelty vehicle. It makes the statement, "Yeah, I got SOOOO MUCH MONEY HONEY, I can spend my cash on completely stupid things like G-wagons. Now how about that lap dance?"

Agree. They need to differentiate it enough to not make it look like a dressed-up Bronco with an inflated MSRP. Lexus was able to pull it off between the previous gen Land Cruiser and LX, although those weren't high volume vehicles.

I suppose you can point to Cadillac and Lincoln being successful with the Escalade and Navigator respectively.

Lincoln needs to add a bronco in both 2dr and 4dr variants with a non removable top and doors. Really improve the interior. Big wheels on somewhat thin tires. Add a widdle wadder. Doesn’t even need a SAS option. Hybrid motor, 350+hp or go home.

then they need to add a EV with range extender ICE sitting on a sedan throwback to the 1961-68 continental including suicide doors.
