ProCal and flagged VIN in OASIS

This is a question for any of our peeps that work at the ford dealerships, does having the dealer install procal immediately flag the VIN in OASIS with the 3y/36k? I currently hold a 7yr/100k since I bought the vehicle as a 3,000 mile gold cpo cream puff.

I ordered a procal, but the fear mongering is getting to me and I'm honestly debating just selling it instead of having the dealer install it.

I would love to know if it impacts an extended warranty. It’s not worth it to gain a little extra HP/Torque if the powertrain warranty stops at 36K miles.

Only for FP parts that you can't visually see that could impact the "normal" factory/extended warranty (such as module updates).

OASIS, among other things, gives warranty/recall information to dealers techs. The warranty for the Ford Performance tune is handled through a different department than the "normal" warranty process.

The big obvious warning is there so dealers don't waste their time by trying to warranty a component through the normal channels that should be warrantied through the Ford Performance department.

It doesn't outright void the extended warranty, but the extended warranty only covers the factory config. So anything that is impacted by the Ford Performance tune (engine components, PCM, etc.) will no longer be covered by the extended warranty.

Anything not impacted by the Ford Performance tune will still be covered by the factory/extended warranty.

(Same goes for most other aftermarket components you might install.)

In reality, they just have to say no and come up with any excuse to push it off and make you come at them with a lawyer (which will cost 10x more than the repair they are pushing back onto you would cost anyway)

Exactly.
A dealer has no reason to fight ford for you. Ford has no reason to capture you as a customer over anyone else. Your 1:10,000 problem has no bearing on them.

The dealer has a month+ waiting list for service. They don't need you at all.

Give them some crap and watch your vehicle sit in service for 6 months and THEN they'll tell you no...AGAIN...and trespass you.

I guess it all depends on your Dealership. I have bought the last 4 Fords through mine and they’ve stood by me in warranty claims with a lot of aftermarket parts including a Livernois tune.

Plus not to mention, even if you did take them to court, it would be pretty easy for them to show how an aftermarket tune could cause an engine failure. Then you’d be SOL

Which begs the question, why would a person purchase a Bronco with the expectation that you will heavily rely on Ford's warranty - any of them?

Sure, if this is to be a commuter vehicle "appliance", choosen aesthetically but otherwise serves you as the equivalent of a Toyo Highlander...but if your getting it to actually wheel, and are going to make the usual desired mods, it seems to me that your already past relying on warranty. Sure if it comes through it is a bonus - and as @MGF points out the quality of dealerships ranges widely. Still...
