My sensors are very close to accurate. I run 41 psi front and 36 rear on my 24 Badlands with a 2.7L engine. I have the rear seats removed but have a lightweight platform and shelving to replace them. Pressures determined by chalk like test. I am due for my next tire rotation and treads are wearing perfectly. I get no harsh ride on pavement and air down off-road.

Use your experience about tire pressures to run.

Remember, if you split an innertube after taking a bitchin jump, then your pressure was too low. If you split a dried-up old sidewall after pumping up by really leaning on the pump handle, then your pressure was too high.

Ford Bronco Air pressure question stingray

Oh, back to Broncos --

my SAS OEM seems to like 38 - 40 on road.
Haven't been below 18 off road, but probably should've once or twice.

I also was denied a uhaul rental even though my Explorer was a different model year and different tires than the affected models, hah.
They wouldn't let me rent one with my Sport Trac either. Even though it was a Ranger at heart, it still said "Explorer" on the badge.

Have kept my territories at the 41psi they came from the dealer with. Bounces around between 38-39 cold but after getting them up to temp they are always at 41 and wearing perfectly even with 17k miles on the odometer.

Runs smooth as silk too. Rough roads are rough roads but there is no shimmy or shake. I have always been really impressed how easy and smooth this thing drives.

My tires from the factory (ordered my Bronco) were way over inflated too. Must be something they do.
Ford does overinflate for shipping. Part of PDI is to take the air pressure back to the door sticker, so if OP had high pressure leaving the lot, that's on the dealer.
I had the same experience with my Toyota T-100 decades ago. I found the handling squirrelly on the highway and I blamed the suspension. It turned out the problem was overinflated tires. Once that was fixed it handled fine for a pickup truck.

Edmunds had a negative review on this truck based on its highway handling (calling it "a handful"), and I have to wonder if the reason was they didn't air down the tires to the right pressure.

I would be very surprised if your tire wear is truly even at those pressures. Many large tire shop chains will give you exact wear numbers across the width of your whole tire for free. Get the numbers and report back for us.

36 year round for me

20-30 for light off road with some pavement in between

12-18 for wheeling

7-10 in the really fine sand (Sand Hollow) and snow

So when I got my bronco a month or more ago, the tires were at 48-50psi. Which I remember as it was an absolutely insane psi.

Later. I aired down to 22 for some trails. I reaired to 43 before I got towed back to ford because of a fuel pump failure.

I asked them to complete the air up before I picked up my bronco. They said it was within spec.

So I look at the sticker in the door and it says 39, so technically I am still too high in psi.

The drive feel was very different at the high psi as you can imagine.

What psi do you use on the road? Clearly these tires do not seem to care how much air is in them. Want a good ride and gas mileage. I got 19mpg coming home from the dealer on the freeway, going over one mountain range and up another to where I live.

I seem to get closer to 15mpg with the lower pressure
35 psi cold period. 2.7 24 wildtrak
