Nope. I got it because it was soft top, $15K off, twin turbo and the only viable replacement to My S550 Mustang convertible that was getting beat up by crumbling Canadian roads where most roads are dirt anyway LOL.

The other options were $200K convertibles with active suspension....a bit ostentatious anywhere let alone an impoverished country.

I like how the lettering on the grill keeps changing but it's a fun watch. I also got mine cuz 15K off plus a 3K Ford email incentive. I park my S650 Next to my Badlands SAS. The video is fun regardless

Interesting mention of the S560. I'm a fan of all kinds of cars (grew up with Mustangs). I've had the Bronco on my brain for about 2 years -- it was always going to happen -- but my timeline got pushed last July, when a careless driver totaled my beloved E550.

So, I grabbed the Bronco in October (as stated, when the incentives also started becoming more reasonable).

So, I'm all over the map since my other ride is a '61 Corvette. I love each of girls equally. 😎

Growing up my Dad had a 62 Vette a 64 vet and a 79 Vette all at the same time, I got to experience the latter 2 personally (like I got to drive them) Sorry about the Van/Heavy duty. I found a 2024 BL on a showroom floor with the discounts, and it had been inside for like a year, so I leased it ( because it was already a year old). Many vehicles are special to us, which is why I ended up with the 1971 Mach1 my dad and I built and now I dont know what to do with. so totally agree.

I am the guy who had a 1982 bronco 2 door with the 300 cid inline six. that was great for traveling the back roads and logging road, driving snow covered roads and pulling stumps and hauling firewood. Hauling kids and camping gear. It was fun and practical

I can’t believe I watched that whole thing, but …

Interesting niche that guy has created with his ‘psychology’ of car culture videos. I wouldn’t argue with the fact that there are a LOT of Bronco buyers who never leave the pavement, but he’s missing a big demographic — the swath of rural Americans who regularly drive on the dirt, in the snow, maybe mud, and actually NEED a seriously capable vehicle. I’m not an old G1 previous Bronco owner, and I’m not a performative suburbanite who wants impress his buddies and look ‘tactical.’ I’m just a guy who lives up in the rocks, at +6000 feet who needs to (and more often likes to) drive on the dirt. And driving is a lot more fun with fewer people around.

So my choice of practical vehicles left me with not that many options: Jeep? Rented several over the years. Never impressed. Always felt ready to break. Toyota? Postponed my Bronco purchase to check out the new Land Cruiser, not good enough IMHO. Ineos? Thought about it, nice vehicle, but didn’t want to live +500 miles from a dealer. (Also starts around $80K) Land Rover? Nope, had one back in the 90s and that was enough.

Luckily, I actually really liked the Bronco design language and I think Ford did a good (near great) job of resurrecting the brand. Very happy with my purchase. But I’m in neither of that guy’s groups. I’m just a guy who needed a good 4x4 and didn’t want/need a pickup. Glad the Bronco exists.

Considered INEOS only until the specs came out and a manual would not be offered.

Had an Austin dealer in the early 2000's that was set to bring in the rebadged ARO24 (Cross Lander 244 if I remember right) but that deal never materialized. They did actually get some former Romanian Army surplus that had been refurbished but they sold before I could get in to see them in person...

Growing up in rural America, I always wanted, but never could quite afford or justify a 1st generation Bronco. Later generation Broncos never interested me for a couple reasons, one being the top not removable all the way to the windshield. I settled for cheaper Jeep CJ’s as a safer open air trail capable vehicle over my motorcycle which was probably gonna mame or kill me. Jeeps being just one step above a tractor and less reliable, and being a die hard Ford guy, the reintroduction of the Bronco with 1st generation appearance cues and removable doors and roof seemed like the ticket. The addition of 4 doors and a lush ride made it sellable to the better half. We do off-road it frequently and I’ve already broken it twice. Ford slightly missed the mark for me personally, because it has way too many bells and whistles that made it expensive, annoying, and potentially un-reliable. . I still love it, but it could have been better…for me anyway.

Have you seen the promo videos for the concept vehicle that Hyundai unveiled at the New York Auto Show and that may appear by 2030 -- the Boulder? It certainly looks "Bronco-inspired!" 😉

Interesting & I have to agree with most of it.. I’m “re-living” my earlier days & love driving the 6G.. my family & I use it for its designed purpose, (short wheelbase, hi-ground clearance with low range transfer case) with a desire to explore remote places..

One fact about the Wrangler & now 6G, the overwhelming volume of units produced is “undermining” (one of) the reasons I bought one (quiet frustration) sort of… every yahoo has one!

I had a 1984 Bronco and loved it. Had to sell it in 2000 and swore if they ever brought back the Bronco I was going to get one. Lived through all the teasers (fords and the internets) of them bringing it back and nothing. I gave up on it in 2020 I had a Sarge Green Willis picked out was about to make the trip to Laredo to get it, but was having a hard time with the $55k price tag for not a rubicon. Then I remembered they said Bronco was coming back so I googled it. That was exactly 1 month before the release. So glad I waited for the Bronco.
And I off-road it a lot. I live have mile off road and to get to the back of our property it is another 1.5 miles of rough road.

I got my 1970 in the late 80s when it was dirt cheap and often ridiculed for being a squeaky brick of rust. I got it because it was so cheap I could afford it and could reach my back pastures to fix fences, carry tools to my broke down tractor, and get me to work in a snow storm. My F305 dump bed was for heavy chores, lousy on highway, and too big to get to the back pastures. I kept it through the years because it was cheaper than buying anything newer, and maintainable. Somewhere along the line it became cool, and I enjoyed it a little bit, after being laughed at for a couple of decades. But I still used it to drive in snow and haul back a newborn calf. Then I got a long term contract in southwest. I had sold the cows. Needed AC and sheetmetal rust was becoming a problem I couldn't ignore anymore. So I got a 6th gen for AC to survive AZ valley temperatures with the idea to restore it. Why not explore the south west and national parks on my weekends since I'm not milking cows anymore? Discovered exploring off the beaten path was a lot of fun, and hey, that front locker is like magic and crawling gear really crawls. The heater is absolutely awesome, and the defroster actually defrosts the windshield. I thought heated seats where sort of a joke and at first thought I wet myself, but they were easy to get used to. The adaptive cruise control is the bee's knees on long trips. power disc brakes and power steering is sweet!

Am I doing it for image?

I kind of fit the video's statement that I enjoy being able to keep the old boy running and can troubleshoot it in the field and get myself home. The new one's literal bells and whistles drive me nuts. A little weird to shift it, not as obvious where the engine is at compared to the 302 and 6th seems a bit of a waste. I miss my bench seat, but I don't have a dog anymore. Girlfriend would still nap with her head on my lap on long trips though. I really miss the vent windows. I'd say I don't miss my floor dim switch except I can't stand the automatic high beams. If I had to pick one over the other I'd take my floor switch. Radio is better but only marginally and almost as much cabin noise. It did make me decide to put in front locker in my project, along with power assist disc brakes, and if I can get AC in it, I can't justify keeping both. I'll go back to the old one. Dollars per mile it's still cheaper but that's partially because I bought it for under a grand.

So, I discovered offroading sort of accidentally. I bought originally because cheap and useful, fixable. I'm inclined to keep it because its cheap, useful, and fixable. I only recently sold the F350, winding down the farming and don't need a dump bed anymore, only haying the fields now. I certainly didn't get it because I was trying to project any image. Like I said, I got laughed at mostly. I don't think i quite fit the videos typeset.

My 1978 Bronco was my dedicated off roader until i discovered the Land Rover Series3 and Defender vehicles. Ironically, Ford owned Land Rover at its Defender peak (2000-2008). Ford clearly learned a lot from the Defender and in my estimation surpassed it with the 6G Bronco. Which is why i replaced my Defender with a Bronco. I would not own a new Defender.
