Bronco newbie must have mods for mpg and wind sound

I don’t understand how people don’t get +20-ish. I’ve got a loaded up Badlands SAS, Hoss 3.0, 2.3L 2DR, with a couple aftermarket skids, stock 35s. I just did a 1450mi roadtrip, through the mountains, a few trails, only about 75% highway. Still got +21 MPG.

add heavy 37” tires and a couple more inch’s in lift, my consistent 19 mpg went to 16.5. I’m running 87 also, can get a few mpg better with 91/93.

If correct that is impressive for a Badlands SAS! I get around 21 with my bare bones base around town, but a Badlands SAS is a different animal for sure. Maybe you had a tailwind on the highway stretches?

Maybe. I certainly had some downhills, but had uphills to match. Caught some windy weather for sure, and snow and rain (the Rockies in late March is a bit aggressive, I’ve learned), which had me on 4A for long stretches. I *do* run 91 almost exclusively — maybe that’s it?

Check all weatherseals for gaps. I have the MIC top and had to address multiple spots where the seals didn't seal right, namely the front panels and the rear corners of the main shell.

Trade it in for the base model with the 29" tires and 7 speed and you can get 22.4 mpg like me! Oh yeah, if it's a 4 door, cut it down to 2 door size to save weight.

Bronco is a fun vehicle, whether you off-road or grocery get, it’s intended use is for fun. There’s trade offs, but it’s still fun. Don’t worry about MPG or noise, you’re having fun.

You didn’t buy a Bronco for gas mileage or a convertible for low cabin noise. Enjoy it, get it dirty, and take your family places you’d never see otherwise. It’s about making memories.

" Broncos are noisy gas guzzlers." Well yeah if comparing to a Prius but its par for the course when it comes to 4WD trucks. My Base manages 21 kicking around town, not bad for any truck.

True, my G63 did 12 mpg haha.

I wonder if there is a noise level difference between the MIC top and the painted top? The Stroppe has the later and there is a good deal of sound deadening material attached to the top. At 65 it measures just about the same as my Gen 1 Raptor, ~70dB.

Nice! Here in California, I5 between the Bay Area and LA, the unofficial speed limit is about 85mph (actual is 65). I5 going north from the Bay Area, average speeds drop a lot. Going 85 would likely result in a ticket (they patrol by airplane).

Gah damn y'all tore me to bits!
1st off I love this bronco and I knew what I was getting my self into. I just know this community loves to tinker and so do I. If there were some no brainer things to do to increase conformt and money in my pocket why not right?
I've seen people promoting moding what your gas pedal does and like an oil separator you attach to the engine. I guess I was more wondering if this is hype to sell you shit your don't need or if everyone was doing stuff like that.
I guess I got my answer
