This was an amazing write up. I followed this exactly except went with kicker speakers throughout instead of the Jls and focals and stuck with kicker key amp and sub. I also upgraded the roll bar speakers to 6.5s. I bought everything in Black Friday and saved about 20%. I then found a guy on task rabbit to install for me as there was no way I felt comfortable pulling this off. I’m picking it up today but my installer says it sounds amazing. Can’t wait to hear it. And will update once I pick it up!

it will sound hard with all those coax when you just need two coax dfor San corners and three mids for center and pods.

I highly recommend better quality made in USA if possible to avoid 25% tariffs or Audison APX4 and AP 4 and the kicks.

any mono amp that suns high-level.signal.if good when over 400W & 4 Ohm. do this first before speakers.

Check over at diyaudio for good prices on 4s, sub's, kicks and amps of superior quality to anything Kicker.

So your saying just do sub and amp first. Then go from there? I'll be ordering via Crutchfield.

Yes. Has the biggest impact by far. Then do two front coax and one front center woofer / mid that maxes out at 7000-10000 hz which is what you want for rear pods too, or not, if you need more.

Highly recomm ND lots of sound deadening in rear, incl the 1" absorber my OBX sounds like Gwagon incl door closing now and it was quick and dirty job.

I want to take a second and modify my post install review. I've had a few more days to dial things in and I would say 8/10 volume under 22, 7.5/10 volume over 22.

The big difference for me was garbage in, garbage out. I normally run my input off of Spotify and I'll search and play songs off of YouTube sometimes. The sound quality of YouTube is complete trash. Spotify CAN have high quality input but you have to mess with the settings. Turn off "Normalize Volume" and set the streaming audio quality to the highest possible setting rather than "Automatic". Made a HUGE difference. Sound quality and level is greatly increased, even had to back it off 30 on a few songs. I'm going to take my testing a bit further and put some of my lossless files on a USB and play them.

I still think I'm going to go ahead and upgrade to the larger rear pods because I want it to be even louder to account for when I take my top and doors off. I want to fear 30 with my top on.

HOLY S@#T.......My man...... haven't tried this in the Braptor yet, but just did these settings on my phone using my earbuds......My guy... this was game changing. Volume increased ALOT on my earbuds. One of my biggest complaints i noticed was switching from radio to Xm to Spotify (Bluetooth from phone) was Spotify was the lowest volume. Wife and I 100% use nothing but Spotify. This will change our world. Thank you very much for that.

Since the Ford dealer had no records of the agreed Performance tune price of the Jan 19 shop date I walked away and bought Hertz MPBX300S2 12" sub enclosure to take advantage of my 1000W 2 ohm amp.

Bronco performing way better after cam phaser fix ....maybe will install at small town dealer by the lake in summer....already have the Procal....

EDIT....one call to parts manager voice mail and voila they foud the quote. Checked the "never plugged in" gifted Procal I received before buying voucher only to discover its locked to abother VIN haha.

Late to the game, but turns out your write up is timeless. I did the Focal ACX 100 in the three dash locations and they sound so much better than stock. Having a 2-way in the center helps it all. Thanks for the info man!

BTW, if it hasn't been mentioned for others, the two accessory location screws for the center channel speaker cover uses a T-15 bit.

Edit: After some time with it, I'm not sure I'm completely satisfied. There is a pretty big hole in the mid-range and the bass is not as deep as I had hoped. I'm going to try other changes. I'm guessing its going to require new amps to get what I'm after.

B&o 2025. Just replaced speakers all around with trail seven uograde with 5 Alpine speakers upfrontt. SSW rear pods. Kicker comp-r dual coil 8in.

Sounds flawless all the way to 30. My bass eq bar on Ford sync is at -4.

You can buy a plug that interfaces with Ford sub plug, just cut the bought plug wires, strip, twist both positives together and both negatives and plug into sub.

Hi Guys I been following the page for a bit, I read through it a few times, I went in a bit of a different direction on what speakers to use I went with fischer amps and helix speakers.

I didn’t like the tailgate sub position. I found it would use up a lot of space for what you would like. I built a sub box and made a storage area for my equipment in the back. I am really impressed with the amps they are plug and play for the most part. I really how small they are for the punch you get out of them. All 3 amps fit where the 8” sub was. I had aspen sound in ID install the system. They did a great job installing it. This is the basic list of equipment I used if interested.
