Bad ass. I’m here for it! And stop all the solid axle hate. Solid axles definitely have their place, especially on a wheeling rig with 40s. If you think not and that IFS is the end all/be all then you’re just uninformed. Can’t wait to see this rig on some trails

It’s like putting a propeller on a jet. You can drive with your feet if you want to. That doesn’t make it a good idea
Like a turboprop? Tell that to Lockheed C130 Hercules crews, that plane wouldn't exist without propellers on jet engines...

You see the irony here, right? Not picking on ya just thought it was a funny post when you look at your username.

Yeah, I suppose GOAT would still work when it comes to remapping shift points and throttle response. I was more wondering if it was still functional as far as 4wd and lockers (which I doubt it will be and manual hubs make it a moot point)

Also, I imagine the dash is probably lit up like a Christmas tree with different warning and check engine lights.

Still glad to see it as someone had to go first and start figuring everything out.
... I did that name for a reason probably a year ago. And Finally, FINALLY some says something about it!! 😂🤣... thank you.. I was hoping it would stir people, but it hasn't yet 😧...lol.

What the hell are you talking about? I daily drive a Wrangler TJ on 38s. It has a lot of suspension upgrades. It drives like a dream. Only reason I stopped at 38 was the wheelbase of a TJ is too short to go any bigger.

40s on a long wheelbase like a 4-door Bronco is a highly desirable combo.

I can't stand uninformed opinions. Jeez, man.
I don't think our definitions of "drives like a dream" mesh when it comes to paved roads.

Why? Waste of a Bronco that could have gone to someone who loves it for what it is.
Yep ruined it. Just get a Jeep next time. And ruin that instead of a carefully engineered IFS 4x4

I have swapped over 20 vehicles at my shop to Solid axle Front. My 98 Mercury Mountaineer on tons and 40s. It's cool to see one swapped already. I don't see a steering box so I'm curious 🤔

I think it's awesome. Go for it, man. 40s are fantastic for serious wheeling on a truck with this kind of footprint.

It was my first interest, actually. I thought about going with a base and just ripping the hell out of it to turn it into a beast on 40s or something even bigger, but I've already gone through that process with my Jeep and I'm still working on it. The Bronco will fit my needs to be a light wheeler and daily driver in the early part of its life and as it gets older I'll start hacking it up more. I want to keep all the tech for now. No doubt that guy had to give up all kinds of electronic doo-dads (most of which don't do a hell of a lot -- for example GOAT modes, that stuff is mostly for noobs.) But when you get the nice big screen and heated steering wheel you think to yourself... "I'll be good with 37s on this thing."

Super glad someone is pushing it to 40s outta the gates, though. It's awesome. We should ALL enjoy watching that. There is absolutely no reason to be critical of creativity and uniqueness.

So this is the second or third time I've seen something along the point of "No doubt that guy had to give up all kinds of electronic doo-dads" in this thread. Why do you think that? You put more thought into your post than others so you get the question.

One photo, particularly the one posted, is not enough to come to that conclusion here. Take a Dana AdvanTEK straight axle with an electronic locker and see if the unit bearings can be changed or drilled to match the Bronco bolt pattern. Adopt the ABS sensors for the brakes (Are they at the wheels on the Bronco? I don't know.) and most everything should work. Or go with Super Duty axles (which may have been done here by the look of the locking hub) and see if the sensor signals are the same.

I'm most interested in seeing what is done for steering. Shocks and control arms are easy.

I'm not ready to call this a hack job yet. I need more information.

What’s the point of swapping a solid axle.
Unlimited amount of lift and strength. Sky's the limit now. Whoever you are thank you for making things fun. And to the pansy naysayers here. I'm sure this is not his only vehicle so daily drive ability road sensors bla bla is kinda a moot point. I hope you put in a V8 motor while you are at it. The only waste of a good bronco is the ones sitting on dirt mountain.
