I think 'the drummer' stopped just short of saying Ford pulled Webasto's MOD top contract & found a different supplier
All the more reason for me to suck it up with the softie for a year, then buy the MOD. I can avoid Webasto completely 🤔

If they can't produce why would Ford want to buy them?

Best to find someone who can do the job properly.
I'd prefer to see Ford just take over the Bronco top plant and install their own people. I don't see that or any other form of takeover happening though.

.

If the Megs is the issue, problem solved. That treatment prolly doesn't last more than coupl'a months anyway
It would be easy enough to find out for sure if this issue was caused by the ceramic wax. All we need is a forum member to volunteer to wax a 4” x 4” section of their new MIC top and see if the same thing happens. I’d do it but I‘m likely 6 to 9 months out from delivery….

Project Farm made a video on plastic coatings and 303 was almost dead last.

...I will be leasing my 4 dr. base in a couple months... 310.00 a month..48 months...so I won't be to concerned about the longevity of the MIC...but to hear all the negativity after seeing 1 top, with a problem, which may have been created by the owner...after I'm cruising in my Bronco...I'll be spending very little time checking in here...

What a sh*t show, so glad I switched to soft top!

That said, I spent the weekend at the Off-Roadeo in Texas and looked at a lot of the MICs very closely and didn't notice anything like that, so I would say it's not sun/heat related so likely a manufacturing defect or as a result of the wax.

from the manual:

I don’t know about you, but reads to me as wax the painted body and use only soap and water on plastics.

This @DETT
"wax" whether pure carnuba or a polymer sealant is designed for paint.

There have been many issues reported on the MIC tops, including by Ford.

Thats what a forum is for, awarenees.
