Parking lights look to be on, chances are it's remote started for A/C.

My Alaskan ass kept my rental black Mustang running as much as possible via the remote start when I was in Vegas and it was 110 degrees to keep it cool when I ran in a store or something.

I leave vehicles running all the time for a quick trip in somewhere. Keyless start means you can get out with the key in your pocket, hit the touch sensor on the door handle to lock it and walk away. Probably wouldn't do it with the back opened up like that though

Probably their first vehicle with push button start. Shake up the muscle memory of years and years of a keyed ignition and this happens. Then factor in how quiet vehicles idle now and it's pretty easy to do.
