Yup cause it’s pointless to rotate the 5th tire, if the point is even tread wear...it will not be even tread due to driving patterns. Unless you are driving same location, stopping at same places, same time every time every day...there will still be inconsistencies...even your with your fist rotation, the other 4 will already have different tread wear than your spare...
Why wouldn’t they? That’s crazy...I guess unless you have a tire cover (stuck in the ‘80s), but if the Jeep is built with big tires or 33+ in general those are rare. Everyone I know that cares about their Jeep and is a “Jeep person” rotates 5. Most places don’t charge extra to rotate in the 5th. Just give them the rearward cross diagram when you drop it off....and always rotate all 5. Otherwise when you change tires or you have to buy the same exact tires, or you’ve wasted 20% of your tire life.
incorrect perception...your spare is only supposed to get you home or somewhere to get broken tire fixed. That’s why donuts are smaller on other cars...let’s say the messed up tire cannot be fixed and you end up getting a new tire for it, now that tire is not the same as the rest.
Why is it pointless? Your tires go 20% further before you have to change tires. It’s ignorant not to rotate 5, as again...then you’re stuck with the exact same tire or you wasted the treadwear (or you have to use a stupid looking cover).
so when it’s time to replace tires, now you have to replace 5 instead of just 4 since you put the spare in rotation...

True, but you went 20% further so the exact same total cost but you went longer without new tires...and you’re not stuck with an oddball tire if you decide to change sizes or tire type.
