you are forgetting about 2 important facts. The spare will not have a TMPS. I have owned a GEN1 and GEN2 Raptor and the spare does not have a TMPS ... and get this .. it is not even balanced.

I removed my spare in my GEN1 and GEN2 raptor and had them balanced just in case I had to use them.

You still want me to drink from your well?

:)
I’ve never owned a bronco but every car i had had TMPS in the spare. When the temp drops, and the damn low pressure light comes on, it’s usually the spare as far it not balanced? Ummm, get it balanced? 😂

I can see both sides of the argument. 20% longer life vs. uneven tread depths. both are correct.

HOWEVER, I won't be rotating the 5th because IMO driving around with a used / worn tire on the back of the vehicle just looks bad. just my .02

You have a logic fallacy there, you are assuming the Bronco tire will not be balanced just because a truck you have had did not.

If you care to look it up, the bronco has all 5 tires with a TPMS, and they are copying jeep, the 5th tire is meant to be used. It is the same rim and balanced. I don't make my horses drink and I think more of them than most other things.

Regardless of where you fall on using 4 or 5, remember that the "spare" is not designed as a spare, as @toymaster said. These are not maintenance-free spare tires, as modern donuts and many full size spares are(my Yukon's spare has the same diameter but is narrower). If you leave it on the back without using it or maintaining it, you could lose the bead and be SOL right when you need it. By using 5, you have that maintenance cycle built-in.

I'll just throw this out there as well. I have a habit of buying entirely different tires each time, including size. I really do not want to have a mismatched spare nor deal with one old/new tire.

Only here could tire rotation be a controversial topic.
I will rotate all 5 tires as I am old school and my dad taught me to rotate the spare in when all spares were full size. My 07 Audi A6 had a full size spare and matching wheel. It's who I am.

That’s one of the biggest reasons...nothing to lose at all, but no problem switching to a new tire....and you go to 50k when homie next door who only rotated 4 bought at 40k miles and was also forced to waste a tire or buy the exact same tires again...sucks for that dude.

All I know is that I just got done watching 3 seasons of Yellowstone, and I don't recall seeing horses drink from a well. So, I'm gonna buy a 6th tire, but just rotate 3.

That reminds me of when my 6 year old asked me about "why is that tire on the trailer, it does not touch the ground". She was referring to the spare tire mounted to the side of the utility trailer. And they say there are no stupid questions.
