If I am not mistaken, it is how many reservations have been converted, not how many orders have been submitted.
Huh? It is the number of reservations converted to orders. That’s what “converted” is.

I am one of the ones waiting until MY22. It's my understanding that those orders can't be converted until August or September of this year. At least that's what my dealership told me.
I mean, that's not really true. Your dealership can convert your order right now, keep your deposit, and then sell the vehicle you reserved on the lot once it shows up not at all like you would have ordered it.

That seems to be what is happening to my reservation.

Personally, I am at a loss as to why there is such an issue with building and delivery of this vehicle. Yeah I get the virus stuff, but Ford arranged a reservation list for the Bronco, and had a fairly good idea of what demand would be. Even if they went with a 50% purchase rate from the reservations, they had more then enough time to arrange outsourcEd part production. In 1964 ,Ford didn’t have a pre order list for the Mustang. They predicted sales around 100K. They wound up selling, and more importantly producing 400K that year. Two million Mustangs in two years. If they were able to ramp up parts production and acquisition in order to fulfill four times as many predicted units in 1964, I fail to see why they can’t overcome a demand issue in 2021. Especially since they had reservation data the Mustang model didn’t. Yeah it is a rant that can be shot to pieces, but it made me feel a tad better after being advised to expect my Bronco in NOVEMBER. Lol

It seems the fair thing for Ford to do is contact all order holders using the original reservation contact information and confirm that they indeed placed the order and intend to take delivery of the vehicle.
Those that say ‘no” to either question Ford should force the order to go to the end of the queue after all existing reservations/orders (MY21 and MY22) and then the dealer can do what they want with it when it shows up.
Those that do not respond are put on hold until the dealer can validate the customer exits and answers the two questions. The dealer failing to find the perspective buyer also puts the order to the end of the queue.
Dealer Employee orders can be addressed by asking a third question. “Are you a current employee?” Those ‘yes’ get bumped and any false no’s are something Ford and the Dealer will have to handle as they do any other misrepresentation.

As a further bit of fairness, MY21 orders canceled should be offered to those MY21 buyers who are bumped out of MY21, using a first come first serve and best match approach. Those declining orders go to the dealer. For example a B 2.3. manual gets offered to the next B 2.3 manual that missed out of MY21. Each order gets one shot and each buyer in queue gets one chance to accept.
Ford: Oh you have an abandoned Bronco order? Great, just add it to your pool of mannequins you can sell in 6-7 months:

For sure it's a weird relationship between dealers and Ford. And you can guarantee there will be heavy ADM on the cancellations.

But converting 20% of fake orders or orders without consent, and then expecting the other 80% to all go through with purchase is asking for trouble.

I'm sure there's some dealer funny business going on - but will it be 20% by design, doubtful.
The smart play would have been to wait until near the end of the ordering period and then convert every customer who didn't respond at all to a 19, wait to see what the estimated production dates were and change a bunch of those to 99 as needed to keep from going over the 20% threshold.

What Ford could have done was to impose a rule requiring the dealer to offer the "unclaimed" vehicle to their existing reservation holders first, in order, at the same effective sales price, (MSRP, invoice, etc.) That takes all of the incentive out of gaming the system while letting an existing reservation holder move up if they are willing to accept the vehicle with some potential differences than what they had planned on. Win-Win-Win.

My dealer convert my reservation 2 days before the end of the deadlinewithout my consent. He did not care if I buy it or not
That's what I would have expected (previous post). Two days before, dealer figures customer isn't gonna order, so "I'll just put this one in for a future ADM sale..."

I'd have started with the earliest reservation timestamps of non-responders.

That mustang had lets say 10% of the parts on it, coming from like 10 suppliers, and most of them were shared with other models. And very minimal testing and other BS to pass first.

I would bet there will be a ton of Big Bend 4-dr 2.3’s with soft tops available as soon as production ramps up because these guys know how to game the system to avoid constraints and get iron on the lot.
Forget that! They'll be ordering Badlands Sasqatch and Wildtrack trims. $5K+ ADM is easier for some rich guy to swallow on a $50-60K vehicle than on a $35K vehicle. Besides, those buyers want all the extras. Maybe the ADM will be even higher.

I was attempting to clarify the "So 133,000 or so orders in" part of your comment.

The point I was trying to make is that, by your estimation, 133k reservations have been converted but there have not been 133k buildable orders submitted. A good portion of those conversions are most likely priority coded 99 (which I was not considering as an "order in").

They asked for my SSN
So did the guy speaking broken English that called from the “IRS.” He also asked for $100,000 in BTC and said he’ll send me $1,000,000 back in return. Sounded legit, so I said why not.

Thanks for sharing. Great for Ford but higher than many here expected. So, with 190k reservations this means about 126k converted. If we assume 66k reservations made in MY21 then that leaves Ford with 60k reservations to make for MY22. Thought somewhere we saw that 30% of reservations were made in first week and 30% of 190k is 57k so basically first week reservations are most likely to get a MY21.
That's assuming that the first 57k reservations were converted into orders.

No, he didn't ask for any BTC, but sent me a link to file my taxes. Something like www.irs.ru

Not only that but they ramped up multiple factories to meet the demand. Plus assembly lines were a wee more simple than they are today.
