My concern is getting pushed into 22 and my color choice being discontinued. I’ve waited 26 years for a red bronco, another year isn’t going to matter much.

Not evil but if a retailer business relies on commissions and sales goals from a manufacturer, playing in the given gray areas can be the difference between success and bankruptcy.Agreed and agreed. I don't get the fixation either, seems like a lot of people here give dealership management way to much credit and akin them to evil geniuses (no offense XC). If you look at a dealerships allotment as a whole, yeah 20% is a big number. But if you break it down by month (which is what Ford said they will be watching) it is not a big number and gets more difficult to control. (ie, if a dealer gets 20 Broncos a month, only 3 can go to "other but reservation holder" and the 4th gets him kicked in the nuts and penalized). That's a lot of risk to manage for not that big of a reward (what, maybe a $5k ADM?).
The other point being missed is that the 66% percentage is conversion and not orders. The actual number of orders being placed and built is going to be (substantially?) lower.
Strangely, I am a September 10th reservation who may get his vehicle earlier than others, depending on whether I make the allocation at my dealership.I have no one else to blame but myself for having a late reservation, but damn my car might not make it until next year. My husband has resorted to fixing problems himself since he doesn't want to put anymore money into it. I have zero confidence in his abilities under the hood of a car.It would figure that the first car that I've liked in 16 years would have a massive waiting period.
Which red did you get? I think the going bet is Cyber Orange going away. They could also just add more colors and not remove any or just replace a color with a new shade of the same color. Red seems like a safe color for anything sporty like the Bronco. My concern is getting pushed into 22 and my color choice being discontinued. I’m in the same boat. Procrastinted until Aug 3 to put my reservation in. Now I’m hoping my 2006 van, with 235K miles can make it until February/March 2022I have no one else to blame but myself for having a late reservation, but damn my car might not make it until next year. What is the penalty and how severe? Dealers are probably just factoring in any penalty costs and moving forward anyway.Dealers get penalized if more than 20% of Bronco's are sold to non-reservation holders.

It could...but it depends on the options list. That really makes a late October reservation holder take a deep breath. 50,000 units in 2021, 70,000 units later in 2022 could mean a September 2022 deliver.![]()
That's a lot of ADM to make up for 3 months of potential Bronco sales. It was posted a while back.

Good luck factoring in months worth of lost sales and the shit storm that will ensue from your reservation holders.
Race red. I’m in my dealers 30 allocations for 21. 2 door, 2.3, SAS, black painted top, std package. Some of my choices help some push it back.Which red did you get? What length of time is "a period" ? I still think there is room for planning and scheming. It was posted a while back.

Edit. not You in particular but dealerships, you know what I meant.
...or 19.9%? 20% gets a meeting with the Bobs.20% if they were smart.
