Can’t keep it up (alt output voltage)

My Ecoflow battery dc-dc alt charger shuts down at a specific voltage, but the battery system seems to keep the voltage low much of the time. For example, it settles to 12.6v on a long drive in the freeway. That about the same charge as the battery when not running.

is there a way to keep the voltage a little higher?

If you're charging a lithium battery the bms decides what voltage.
Does your battery say 12.6 on it?
Is it Bluetooth?

Does your battery say 12.6 on it?
Is it Bluetooth?
I need the alt output voltage to stay above the resting voltage of the battery when the vehicle is running.

the dc inverter voltage reading isn’t really important.

Yes, you can force the BMS to output more, but the tradeoff is that the truck shuts off all the unnecessary modules when not running. This is because the BMS thinks that it never reaches a full state of charge.

I've been running like this for the last 12 to 15 months with no issues. You're basically telling the computer that it has a bigger battery than it actually does and that it should try to maintain a higher state of charge than normal, so it's always trying to charge at a higher rate instead of going down into an eco mode for charging. Here's the stock and two different setups you can try on BCM 726-04-01

Stock (H6 / 80% SoC): 0101 - 0050 - 00XX
Sustained high voltage (Stock H6 Battery / 95% SoC): 0101 - 005F - 00XX
Sustained high voltage and higher current capacity (Upgraded H7 Battery / 95% SoC): 0201 - 005F - 00XX

I use the Ecoflow charger as well and have just changed the start voltage on the Ecoflow to 12.5v when I need it to fire up.

Firing up the A/C to max also brings the alternator to around 13.5v.

Is the h7 battery the one that comes with the aux switch package?

doesn’t it drain your battery down when you shut off the vehicle?

I'm not certain, but I imagine the EcoFlow is using the low voltage as a signal that the vehicle is shut off, and then it turns off.

Problem is, the Ford BMS, at some times, will turn the alternator off even with the engine running. You've also got ASS in there that will stop the alternator too. I've never seen it stop for too long, as there are still a lot of electric loads in a running Bronco that normally drain it, but maybe if you had an awesome battery and a long, flat straightaway piece of road?

Now - I would think, you would want the Ecoflow to stop in those conditions, and just let it do what it's gonna do. It shouldn't hurt anything, because all it's doing is topping off a Lithium battery bank somewhere, and if you have loads running, they are running from that battery, not directly off the DC-DC charger.

Not if you change it back to over 13v before you shut down.

I only change the voltage in rare cases where the Bronco BMS has dropped voltage to under 13v and I need to charge the Delta Pro. Otherwise, it leave the starting charge voltage at 13v.

You can set it to start charging at a particular voltage. There is also a shutoff timer you can set if you wish to have the charger turn off after a certain period of inactivity.

Thanks for this info! I had no idea this was an option to change. Exactly what I needed! Set mine to 95% as well.

Yes it's using low voltage to signal shutdown. The problem was that I did a 1.5hr drive and it sat under 13v nearly the whole time. Granted, it was a new battery that may have had nearly 100% SoC, and it was over 108* out, so it's quite possible the BMS decided to just float the battery at 12.6v for whatever reason.

I think you're right and I'm overthinking it. If i get to my destination and it's not as chaged as i need it to be, i can simply set it to pull the full 800w for a few mintues. it's unfortunate that the ecoflow doesn't have a signal wire that can be used to deal with aggressive BMS'.
