I was expecting more something like “a rag and a match and problem solved.”Is this what @HalfmuleFarmer was expecting?
Lol. I checked. Not me.Have you considered the possibility that it's you?
Seriously, you may have gas on your clothes or shoes.
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned this, but next time don't top it off.
That's exactly why they tell you not to top it off. ...
Overfill plus heat expansion. ...
Don’t top off.
... STOP topping off the tank!!
If that's not sarcasm: it's squeezing more gas in after the first pump auto shut off.On another note, what is "topping it off"?![]()
No sarcasm. I had a friend back in high school who would take the pump out and try to gas up to the end, where you could see gas. I figured that was what they were talking about. I've always gone 2-3 more shut-offs since forever, so interesting that's considered a problem. I guess I don't need that extra 1/5gal...If that's not sarcasm: it's squeezing more gas in after the first pump auto shut off.

Expanded gas (and fuel) now goes into the charcoal overflow canister which eventually hardens the charcoal into lumps and then the overflow is vented to the atmosphere, hence the smell. No sarcasm. Ahh, thanks! I wasn't aware that was a thing.Expanded gas (and fuel) now goes into the charcoal overflow canister which eventually hardens the charcoal into lumps and then the overflow is vented to the atmosphere, hence the smell.

Chandler is….HOT! I’ve lived here most of my life. It’s becoming a concrete jungle. But yeah, the winters are amazingly nice.Brian; Don't take it too hard...I did similar thing with my Harley. Topped off on a hot/humid NE day and the next AM garage was a fuel pit. Needless to say it will self-fix.
How's Chandler (BTW) - my big bro lives there...migrated fm MN for your hot winters.![]()
The Taco Bell inspired response was a nice touch thoughI was expecting more something like “a rag and a match and problem solved.”
