Call me crazy, but when I saw "Desert Rising Edition" I pictured in my mind a Desert Sand Bronco with some cool black graphics. Something like this maybe?

Man that looks good. Winch and the wheels really make it with the top off. Lots of dust to clean out, but sure does look the business.

Too much like right I guess... 😏

All I ever wanted was a pink pimped out Bronco. Yeah. 😒

I think that is a white base. If they wanted the 'sunrise' effect or whatever, I think it would look way better on a gray/light gray base color.

As mentioned throughout this thread, pink on white screams Barbie. Pink/purple on Gray would at least get a little away from that. And I think something like the middle or right of middle color below would have been better for the interior - and the more I think about it, they should have used that gradation along the exterior instead of gradation of pink/mauve.

Unfortunately the way it looks now, I think most (I know I would) would mistake it for some well done aftermarket mod for someone who is into pink.

The pink on bright white paint defintely says “Barbie” and not “sunrise”. The Utah Pink Sand Dunes have some pink color but even the best attempts to capture that show a mixture of earthy tones.

More coral colors with some oranges and browns.
This color chart of “coral“ colors with some of those earthy tones looks similar to the dunes photos:

The decal looks very lazy with only pink simply and abruptly fading light to dark. They could have designed more color variations with oranges or light browns like the actual dunes. That could have been interesting.

Instead, the designer’s result looks more like, (1) they really wanted to make pink-themed appearance package and then (2) went looking for some existing park or landmark that had “pink” in the name, (3) found out about the Utah Pink Sand Dunes, then (4) claimed those dunes were the inspiration. *yawn*

Ha! "How can we make a Barbieonco without admitting we're making a Barbieonco?"

I challenge you to show us a truly inspired design Ford has released for the 6g. Even the Stroppe, which was inspired (by Stroppe's actual ride...) without being very creative, washed up on the rocky shoals of selling the damn things.

At least the Stroppe trim mostly got the colors right and looked good on the 2-door. The 60th Anniversary has some nice details.

All I can say is I hope the team that came up with this ugly, hideous machine below got sacked in favor of the innovative team that developed the Dessert Rising (sp. intentional). Look at this awful thing! Gross! I hope something like that NEVER makes it to market! Just looking at it makes me gag. Give us more 🩷 and mauve and maybe teal seat covers and sticker packages!

🙃 Sarcasm....extreme sarcasm.

It’s probably the same design team, but different objectives, different project leads, different target market. (And obviously designing a car show concept vehicle is a vastly different project than a quick-to-market bolt-on/glue-on appearance package.)

Probably, and look what gets to market. Mean while, they de-feature the two door product line to what...improve it's sales....by making it less expensive and also less attractive? But they put money into this thing....even if it is a small amount of money?

Oh, I hear you as a fellow 2DR owner. I’m sure they’re just driven by the market reality that few customers want a 2DR vehicle. Or they *want* one, until they discuss with the wife.

But look at that awesome 2DR concept … if the Barbie package costs $12600 and it’s standard parts, custom seats and stickers, what do you think that rock crawler package would be, an additional $30K? $40K? I’m pretty sure Ford has the research showing there’s not much of a market for a $100,000 2DR.

Or … those who want it and are willing to spend that kind of money will just do it themselves.

I was jazzed by the Filson edition - the girly girl in me was all "Oooh, ROSE GOLD!" and the tomboy in me was jazzed by the engine size and some of the appointments. It's a no go however due to 4-doors.

None of me is enticed by this Pepto-Bismol, soccer mom pandering money grab.

There is nothing stopping Ford from building a 2-dr Raptor. It certainly wouldn't be built to the spec of the Cliffhanger concept - seats, tube doors, and 40's. But doing so would cannibalize the current 4-dr Braptor sales which are already struggling. And the price point will certainly be cheaper than the 4-dr Braptor.

Not to hijack this thread, so I'm linking the original Cliffhanger Concept thread for those who want to discuss it.
