…“and the recent climate update made it so I need to use max A/C all of the time.

I love driving my bronco but Ford has no idea what they’re doing when it comes to audio, climate control, removable roof or tech in general” …
I did notice that my A/C has not felt as cold and a I’ve been cranking it on full blast constantly lately. (And still that doesn’t keep up). I just chalked that up to the back to back heat waves we have been having.
Has anyone in a milder climate without 110 degree heat index days experienced weaker A/C, possibly due to an update?

I'm in Phoenix. I'm very happy with my Bronco's A/C, even in June/July when it hits over 115 in the shade. I just leave it set at 75 F. I used to have it at 73 but decided that was too cold.

Got the TCU update today 🤞

This OTA is the first of a packet of three that Ford is calling "Software Update 12". Next one will be a TCU and then an APIM that brings Sync up to version 26093. That new Sync is a biggie. It is a whole new OS with new nav files, new voice files and new wifi chip firmware that actually is supposed to address the issues with wireless phone projection with both Android Auto and Carplay. This Sync update will also add the YouTube and Karaoke apps that the newer Ford's are shipping with.

Be prepared.....the Sync update will most likely wipe all user data since it is a new OS. It will not look much different fromt he current one, but it is completely different. My F150 has had it for a few weeks now. I still use a wired connection for my phone, so I can't say if wireless is better, but on the F150, Lightning and Mach E forums, people are saying it is better.

My truck is showing a PCM change was not completed. Maybe because of the Ford Performance tune? Not sure what to do about that.

They also apparently fixed the blank back up screen with a change to the APIM some time in May. I got a letter today saying that blank back up screen recall (# 26S09) is fixed and closed. The Ford app is showing that as the last update.

At this point, we have their attention and they are going to look into it, but send me the VIN if you want and I will send it to them.

I would like to reiterate that for tuned vehicles, this "problem" is a blessing in disguise. If this OTA would go through, it would wipe your tune and most likely render your Procal device useless like what happened to akturbo on post #30.

Correct operation is uninstall tune, get updates, reinstall tune, right?

Started getting the same no key detected messages but it starts. Then it comes up with a need to press the start button...

@rugedraw I started up my Bronco yesterday and got the notice that Sync is updating and will be unavailable until complete. Later I checked the updates screen and saw that is was the third sync update for "Software Update 12", but it was an error message...Not completed. Came back later to take a pic of the error message and it was gone. Back to the PCM not completed error. Will keep an eye out for the Sync retry. not sure why the final Sync update failed.

Got the TCU update today 🤞

According to what Ford Performance told akturbo, that is what they want you to do to avoid problems with the Procal. What Idon't know is if Ford Performance plans to make a new tune for their customers with the updated PCM firmware or if they just plan on keeping the old software forever.

That issue I already reported to Ford a few weeks ago. It can happen to any 2021-2024 vehicle on Sync 4. They sent out an SSM to dealers about this a few days ago. Sometimes the update installs, and other times it doesn't.

Thanks for this info! Looks like they are testing these updates in production lol. Great QA process. /s

lol OTAs are a disaster for all brands; not just them. My truck is in EAP and it went through with no issue a month ago. Many people in EAP got it with no problems. Once the mass roll out started, it was hit or miss. The Expeditions were the first ones to report the problem, but sooner than later, the same issue started popping up on other forums.

When I get the message it won't start and I found out if I put the key fob on top of the dash in the middle then it starts and sometimes after it starts and I start driving down the street it will come on, I had the dealer check it out and of course it didn't do it. One time I couldn't get it to start and I used the Ford app on my phone to start it. Thankfully I've always got it started and it's never left me stranded 😉
