from the performance standpoint the trope of Mustangs hitting curbs started with the Coyote powered Stangs. The entry price was nice enough that people who were not prepared for the "absolute tire shredding performance" as you put it, were able to get into them. The older 4.6 didn't have that problem, because it didn't have nearly the same level of performance.
I wasn't clear in my comments that I was referencing the 13/14 GT500s having the best balance of performance (662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque) while still maintaining a good amount of the early S197 retro look. I think Ford priced out a lot of the young/inexperienced drivers for the 13/14 GT500s.

The 13/14 Mustang GTs had 420 hp with 390 lb-ft of torque. Good power with a somewhat heavy car. But definitely enough power-to-weight to look like an idiot leaving a car show. But even the Fox body GTs could shred tires with only 225 hp because they were so light.

Anyway, I think we agree, the early S197s look great. The new Broncos look great. Now Ford just needs to add more color optons to the Broncos as there are enough white/gray/black vehicles on the road. Fun cars should have fun colors!

I'd kill for a Miami Blue or something to that effect :)

There was an announcement and this is basically what it said:

As of April 30, 2026, Ford announced that Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat is being discontinued for the 2026 Bronco (Job 2 production). This decision applies to all scheduled and unscheduled orders for the 2026 model year. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Here are the key details based on the latest 2026 updates:
  • Discontinuation Details: Orange Fury (paint code NL) is removed from the 2026 Ford Bronco lineup starting with Job 2 production.
  • Action for Buyers: Dealers were instructed to contact customers to change their orders, with a deadline of May 1, 2026.
  • Automatic Replacement: Unscheduled Orange Fury orders will be automatically converted to Avalanche Gray.
  • Excluded Models: Orange Fury was originally intended for the 2026 Bronco but was not made available for Heritage, Outer Banks, Stroppe Edition, or Raptor models.

Exactly that! We need more Skittles-colored cars on the road. Toyota's got something kinda similar on their Tundras...
I couldn’t agree more. Fun vehicles should have fun color options. Bring on the Skittles color palette!

No one knows, yet what colors will be for MY'27 - other than the Bronco Filson preview. The DOG is typically available 2 weeks before the USOB opens which is the end of Oct.

I too was hoping to get Orange fury, something that was exciting and different!

meanwhile Jeep is dropping a new Jeep each month for the past year…

I laugh at this thought daily. Ford could be making even more money on the Bronco if they added excitement for the everyday drivers. I understand that there are a lot of die hards off roader and silly things like sticker packages and quirky, fun marketing may not appeal to them. However, let's be real for everyone one of those there are two people that that this appeal to and probably will still get a Wrangler because it's "fun". I hope Ford changes this mindset before the Jimmy comes because the "safe market" is not big enough for more than two and the Wrangler is not going anywhere and when the Hyundai comes it will play in both markets well. FYI I love my Bronco and would not buy a Wrangler even though that 392 engine screams my name at times😂

A transfer case swap should call your name as well then.

The 392 eats the clutch pack transfer case Jeep saddled it with.

Oh I know and Wrangler quality is iffy and IMHO the daily drive is not good. To me Wranglers feel unstable over 70 mph so I can't imagine the 392 at high speed. I just sometime miss my Challengers😂😂 (yes I know a total difference vehicle). I have the 2.7 now and love the performance. I'm interested in 3.0 in non Raptor applications and hope that for 27 the Heritage/ Outer Banks or Big Bend with BD package gets it for Job #2 because Ford won't want to cut in the Filson model market.
