The Donaldson P577066 appears to be another suitable replacement for the FL500S, although they don't publish their 99% efficiency rating. It does say 50% at 6 micron, which I believe makes it a pretty good contender.

I believe the Motorcraft filters are made by Purolator/Mann-Hummel, so you should be fine for legitimacy. That said, they suffer from poor efficiency and the soft black glue of death....

Is there even another "upgrade" engine option besides the smaller of the two Gen 6 small blocks? They have that twin-turbo V6 floating around the parts bin but they seem content to leave that exclusive to Cadillac for now.

The Tahoe/Yukon is enormous and has a really low clearance IRS, I wouldn't consider those the same vehicle class as the Bronco at all.
