Hey. Never thought of that.
Highly recommended. AND I'm trying really, really hard to NOT look for used base 2-doors with a 7-speed.

I did notice my AC was tuned down the previous update. I've been running auto temp control in the second position now when I rarely would before.
I have been hesitant to do updates ever since the Sept 2023 update changed the amount of range for how dark and bright the center display could be adjusted. I do update after some time and after reviewing what's said in the forums.
I'm concerned this upcoming EGC update could allow Ford to install 2027 DOT regulations into our system.
I will hold off on this latest update for as long as possible.

This OTA is the first of a packet of three that Ford is calling "Software Update 12". Next one will be a TCU and then an APIM that brings Sync up to version 26093. That new Sync is a biggie. It is a whole new OS with new nav files, new voice files and new wifi chip firmware that actually is supposed to address the issues with wireless phone projection with both Android Auto and Carplay. This Sync update will also add the YouTube and Karaoke apps that the newer Ford's are shipping with.

Be prepared.....the Sync update will most likely wipe all user data since it is a new OS. It will not look much different fromt he current one, but it is completely different. My F150 has had it for a few weeks now. I still use a wired connection for my phone, so I can't say if wireless is better, but on the F150, Lightning and Mach E forums, people are saying it is better.
I just got the software update to "fix" the backup camera, SYNC 4, Software Version 26069_PRODUCT, Rev. 2354.

I had made some changes with FORScan and it seems they're still there except for Global Windows Close. That's been deleted.

Your comment makes me wonder if I should hold off adding Global Windows Close until after "Software Update 12."

It doesn't really matter. If an OTA wipes the changes you made, just put them back.

It does matter, why do something twice if you don't need to? That seems dumb.

I don't want to make the changes then have do it again. I'd rather wait. But I don't want to wait if I don't need to.

It's more than just making the changes, I'd also have to get another 2 month FORScan license. That's the only time I go online with my laptop. Taking my laptop online is a bigger pain than making the FORScan changes.

I'm Mac only except when playing with car computers.

If it matters to you, then don't do it. Who knows when you'll get the OTA? It could be months before you get it. If you want to live without the mods until you get the next OTA and make the changes then, then you do you. That's your prerogative.

Thank you for saying that my question doesn't matter.

I was looking for an INFORMED opinion as to when the next update may be coming out. Your post gave the impression that you're an informed person. My mistake. Sorry about the confusion.

The only person that can answer that are the engineers in Ford's Sync product development team. For the F150 and Mach Es, it was the 2021 models that first for the update released and it seems like that may be the case with the Bronco, too. As of right now, I have ran the VIN of some Broncos in PTS and I only see it on 2021 models. I checked a few 2023s and they don't show it in the OTA dashboard. Screenshot below is from a 2021 Bronco. It shows it got the GWM which is the first of the three and then it shows the TCU one next in queue under qualified status (it shows the same OTA over and over in the queue due to a glitch in PTS). There is no way to predict when an OTA will be sent to any vehicle. This is why I was saying if you use global windows a lot, I would make the changes to re-enable it because you may not see another APIM updates for many months.

Have you tried changing the date on your computer to when the license was valid?

My truck is showing a PCM change was not completed. Maybe because of the Ford Performance tune? Not sure what to do about that.

They also apparently fixed the blank back up screen with a change to the APIM some time in May. I got a letter today saying that blank back up screen recall (# 26S09) is fixed and closed. The Ford app is showing that as the last update.

My screen back up recall update went fine but the TCU update stalled now have booked for two days next week because they say could be an entire day back up, although, if it fails again they have to start changing parts...

That's an excellent suggestion! I've done that in the past with great success.

I'll give it a try.

Thanks.

I seldom use global windows but I like having the option.

I only installed global close because it's a pain having to roll up each window after using global open.
